ELAN SOFTWARE NOW SHIPPING GOLDSYNC REMOTE SYNCHRONIZATION GATEWAY FOR
AWARD-WINNING GOLDMINE FOR WINDOWS

Award-winning GoldSync Automates GoldMine's Built-in Remote
Synchronization, Connecting Remote Sites and Users Across the Enterprise

NEW YORK (June 20, 1995) - ELAN Software Corp., Pacific Palisades, Calif.,
is now shipping GoldSync Remote Synchronization Gateway, today announced
Jon V. Ferrara, executive vice president of ELAN Software. GoldSync
automates and enhances GoldMine's current, manual point-to-point remote
synchronization, providing data replication between multiple sites, hosts
and users across the enterprise at predesignated times. Introduced at
COMDEX/Spring '95, GoldSync has been awarded BYTE magazine's "Best of
COMDEX/Spring '95 - Finalist" (Best Connectivity Software) and Call Center
Magazine's "Editors' Choice" (May 1995).

"With GoldSync, GoldMine contact files, scheduled activities, notes and
other details can now be transferred automatically via dedicated
communications servers over standard telephone lines, providing fast,
convenient access to all GoldMine sites and users -- any time, anywhere,"
Ferrara said. "The automation of GoldMine's existing data transfer utility
ensures that vital communications for widely distributed, multi-user
organizations are strategically managed and effectively updated."

In addition, GoldSync has the capability of calling out to remote GoldMine
systems, or waiting for incoming calls from remote systems, automatically
synchronizing both the remote and host GoldMine systems. Multiple GoldSync
servers can be connected over a WAN to synchronize regional offices
throughout the day.

"GoldSync offers expanded benefits to provide transparent connectivity
between mobile professionals, regional offices and corporate
headquarters," Ferrara explained. "GoldSync ensures that GoldMine users
are always working with the most current and complete account
information."

After disconnecting the telephone line, both the host and the remote
systems automatically synchronize each other's transfer sets. If it is
impractical for the remote user to telephone the GoldSync gateway, the
gateway can be set up to telephone the remote user.

"Using multiple GoldSync servers, gateways that support from 1 to 1,000
simultaneous telephone lines can be implemented, and support for dedicated
incoming, dedicated outgoing, or incoming/outgoing lines is included,"
Ferrara added. "This new GoldMine add-on is especially useful for our
larger customers who have multiple sites and remote users." Each server
supports up to four telephone lines and 10 simultaneous tasks.

The most comprehensive contact software available for networks and remote
notebooks today, GoldMine runs on any IBM-compatible portable, desktop or
networked PC. GoldMine has received kudos from such distinguished industry
publications as InfoWorld, earning the highest rating in its recent
contact management comparison review (Dec. 26, 1994).

GoldMine has also been awarded some of the computer industry's highest
honors, such as PC/Computing's 1994 MVP Award for business applications
(December 1994) and Windows Magazine's annual "Win 100" award (February
1995). Windows Magazine also awarded GoldMine its highest rating,
"Recommended" in its September 1994 contact management comparison review.
Other awards include Computer Reseller News Test Center's highest rating,
"Recommended" (Dec. 5, 1994), CPA Technology Report's Annual "All Star"
award (July 1994), PC Magazine's "Editors' Choice" (August 1993) and
Mobile Office's highest rating, "High Honors" (July 1993). In addition,
Software Magazine named ELAN Software a "Company to Watch" in its July
1994 "Top 100" issue.

GoldMine is installed and running on networks at such leading companies and
institutions as Novell, Banyan, Artisoft, State Farm Insurance, Fannie
Mae, Standard & Poor's, Scott Paper, Honeywell, and Sony/Columbia
Pictures.
