GROUPQUEST SOFTWARE RELEASES NEW VERSIONS OF ESSENTIAL TOOLS FOR LOTUS
NOTES

New York, NY, JUNE 20, 1995-- GroupQuest Software today announced Essential
Tools 3.0 for Microsoft Windows NT and IBM OS/2 EssentiaI Tools 2.11 is
currently available for NT, OS/2, and Novell's NLM. This popular
collection of tools for Lotus Notes system administrators now allows point
and click control of a variety of administrative tasks in extended
heterogeneous environments. Lotus Notes is the worldwide market-leading
platform for developing and deploying groupware applications.

Essential Tools, ET, combines several server- based programs that compiles
information contained in Notes Database Access Control Lists (ACLs) and
the Notes Name and Address Book. Using this information; a Notes
administrator can easily manipulate multiple groups, control multiple
ACLs, and terminate users from the Notes environment in the same
transaction. Essential Tools greatly benefits Notes administrators by
streamlining the process of properly controlling management functions,
including server security, database security and user privileges.

"The response to ET within the Notes community has been tremendous", said
Lisa Petrucci, president of GroupQuest. "GroupQuest markets over 60 Notes
applications and utilities to meet a very broad range of business needs.
With thousands-of copies sold worldwide, Essential Tools is our most
popular product."

"We are very excited about the value partners like GroupQuest are adding to
Notes," said Don Bulens, director of Business Partner Programs at Lotus
Development Corp. "GroupQuest Notes applications dramatically reduce
development cycle times for specific business solutions, while utilities
like Essential Tools ease the process of Notes system administration."

ET Features

ET enables systems administrators to add multiple users, with various
access levels with-a single request. Similarly, ET allows administrators
to add or remove people from groups with a single request. Without ET,
separate requests must be made for each user. This feature significantly
streamlines the user and group-management process.

Systems administrators can also use ET to easily alter Notes database-
replication settings, such as replication priority, replication
enablement, and catalog listings, for multiple databases on multiple
servers with a single request. With ET, changes to design templates and
other setting modifications are just as quickly implemented.

Administrators can compose ACL, replication, and statistic monitors for
multiple databases on multiple servers with one request. The ability to
perform file distribution and replicas enterprise wide is also available
with ET 3.0.

ET's ACL Enforcer enhances specific database access control. If a database
ACL is altered remotely,- ACL Enforcer will restore access levels to the
original settings and notify the ET systems administrator. This is crucial
to prevent changes-to ACLs that could interfere with database replication
or give access to users that are not authorized.

Full text indexes can also be controlled with ET. Essential Tools will
manage the total number of full text indexes and space used by indexes on
each server. This saves space, reduces processing time and reduces server
loads.

Essential Tools automatically compiles all of the critical information
system administrators need about their databases, and has ready-made audit
trails and increased accountability that can be viewed for the entire
worldwide Notes network:

* Servers, directory paths and file names
* ACL access by ACL Entry
* ACL access by Access Control Levels
* ACL access by file names
* ACL access by Database names
* Essential Tools ACL changes

Compatibility

Essential Tools is compatible with any Lotus Notes server release 3.0 or
later running the following operating systems:

   OS/2 2.0 or later
   Server for Netware NLM
Microsoft Windows NT 3.5 or later.

Pricing and Availability

The Suggested Retail Price for Essential Tools is $ 1,995 for the first
