IPC Technologies Introduces Austin PowerPlay2

First Dual-Processor 604 PowerPC to Run Windows NT 3.51 Workstation

NEW YORK, June 20, 1995 - IPC Technologies, the first company to ship a
PowerPC 604-based desktop computer, announced the Austin PowerPlay2, a
personal workstation built around two PowerPC 604/100 MHz RISC processors
running in SMP (Symmetric Multi-Processing) configuration. The Austin
PowerPlay2 runs the newly released Windows NT 3.51 Workstation and is
designed as a high-end CAD, 3-D imaging and graphics workstation.

"The dual processor will be a quantum leap ahead of anything on the
market," said Mark Landrum, IPCT's PowerPC product manager. "In addition
to providing twice the speed and power of a single PowerPC microprocessor,
the dual processor opens up new business opportunities to our customers by
delivering workstation performance at PC prices."

A leader in providing high-performance, low-cost computing solutions, IPC
Technologies is known for the award-winning Austin brand and IPCT brand
desktop and notebook computers. The company also is a leader in providing
advanced desktop computing solutions, including MPEG digital video

demonstrates our commitment to be the first to bring the most advanced
technology to our customers at the lowest possible price. "

The Austin PowerPlay2 sells for $7,495 and includes two PowerPC 604 100 MHz
microprocessors, 32 megabytes (MB) of memory (expandable to 256 MB of
RAM), 4 MB of video memory, a 1-gigabyte hard drive, quad-speed SCSI
CD-ROM drive and a 17-inch color monitor. Future versions of the
PowerPlay2 will include the 604/120 MHz and 604/133 MHz as they become
available. The PowerPlay2 comes with two PCI slots and two 16-bit ISA
slots. Since audio, video, NTSC-in video capture, SCSI-2 and Ethernet are
standard features built into the motherboard, all slots are available for
expansion.
