KODAK OFFERS POWER MACINTOSH DRIVER WITH ALL PROFESSIONAL DIGITAL CAMERAS

Quicker Image Downloading, Improved Highlight and Shadow Detail

ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 15--Users of Kodak professional digital cameras will
be able to download images to Power Macintosh computers up to five times
faster than before, with a software driver the company began shipping
today. The software also incorporates algorithms that enhance the capture
of highlight and shadow detail for all acquire modules.

The new driver works with both Power Macintosh and 68xxx Motorola
processors. It enables faster acquisition times--speed gains up to 5x--by
identifying the processor type and streamlining the acquisition process on
that basis. It is compatible with Kodak's DCS 420, EOS-DCS 5, DCS 460. and
DCS 465 digital cameras, as well as the Canon EOS-DCS 3 digital camera and
Associated Press News Camera 2000.

In addition, the driver incorporates an algorithm to improve the tone scale
of Kodak digital camera images, equivalent to gaining 2/3 to 1 1/3 f-stops
in highlight and shadow detail. Also accessible through current TWAIN
drivers, this algorithm's effect is analogous to improving the
"toe-and-shoulder" curve used to map film performance in conventional
photography.

The new Power Macintosh driver and "toe-and-shoulder" enhancements are now
shipping with all new Kodak professional digital cameras. Owners of
current model Kodak digital cameras can download the driver immediately
through the Kodak Forum (GO KODAK) on CompuServe or have it mailed by
calling (800) 235-6325.
