QMS ENHANCES CROWN PRINT SYSTEMS' PERFORMANCE, SPEED AND EASE OF USE

QMS PS Level 2 Windows Driver delivers robust printing capabilities for
color and business users

JUNE 20, 1995 - Mobile, AL - QMS Inc. (NYSE:AQM) today announced a new
PostScript Level 2 Windows driver that will deliver dramatic performance
and usability improvements to Crown print system users. This robust
PostScript Level 2 Windows driver will offer enhanced throughput, color
reproduction and imaging output across the entire QMS Crown print system
product line. General business, professional graphic arts or desktop
publishing customers using the QMS magicolor LX color laser printer and
QMS image enabled print systems will benefit from significant advancements
in the Crown printer functionality and reduced network traffic made
possible with the new driver.

The QMS Level 2 Windows driver is designed with a new graphical user
interface that allows Crown print system users to more easily manage
Windows printing with menu and tab selections. For PC users with color
output needs, the new driver incorporates QMS QCOLOR Technology. QMS
QCOLOR advanced color management technology provides automatic color
control optimization for novice or professional color users and
customizable color capability for advanced users. In addition, the new QMS
Level 2 Windows driver delivers advanced printing capabilities such as
N-up and booklet printing.

"QMS is committed to Windows printing and giving our customers the best
tools available to boost printer performance," noted Philip Johnson, QMS
Product Manager. "In order that our customers can immediately realize the
benefits of Windows'95, we've developed this new QMS Level 2 Windows
driver to improve efficiency and utilization across our entire QMS printer
product line. Our new Windows driver will help users with a variety of
applications, including image-based applications that require both speed
and high resolution in networked environments. With QMS' new Windows
driver, QMS Crown printer throughput can be up to twice the speed of
printers using conventional drivers."

QMS Level 2 Windows Driver

The QMS Level 2 Windows Driver uses PostScript Level 2 operators and file
compression for optimum performance in all areas of the printing process.
Files from Windows applications print at least twice as fast as with
previous conventional drivers. This helps reduce network traffic and
increase productivity as users cut time waiting for print jobs. The
Windows Level 2 driver optimizes printing performance for graphic arts and
desktop publishing users with large file and complex image output needs.

The QMS Level 2 Windows Driver uses a convenient, efficient tabbed user
interface that is common among current Windows applications and the soon
to be released Windows95. With this new graphical user interface, users
can more easily manage printing from the desktop. The driver's file folder
interface presents menu information and selections that allow Crown Print
System users to more easily manage print job configurations.

Advanced N-up printing and booklet printing are additional features
provided by the Level 2 Windows Driver. Previously, these imaging
capabilities were offered only on high-end QMS print systems and were
unavailable on smaller workgroup print systems. Now, 8-17 ppm QMS print
system users can benefit from the advantages of multiple image printing
with lengthy jobs such as reports, proofs or drafts.

Also supplied through the QMS Level 2 Windows driver is QMS QCOLOR
Technology. This innovative automatic color control technology offers both
novice and professional color users extensive color matching and enhanced
color screening support and eliminates the rosettes, moir patterns and
banding typically found in other color printers.

QMS Crown Print Systems

QMS print systems are based on QMS Crown and CrownNet technologies. Crown
multitasking technology delivers fast document throughput, software
loadable upgradability, automatic compatibility with popular printing
languages, and seamless connectivity to virtually any network environment.
QMS CrownNet provides simultaneous network protocol support for multiple
users and advanced remote printer management capabilities. Each Crown
print system incorporates QMS Software Loadable System (SLS) technology
for easy and cost-effective addition of system upgrades and enhancements.
