RCI Guardian Series Provides Virtual Keyboard and Mouse for PCs, Macs and
Suns

RCI (Raritan Computer Inc.) will be debuting its new Guardian series of
emulator/converter devices for PC, Macintosh and Sun computers. Each
Guardian device measures approximately 3" x 2" x 1" and plugs into the
computer's keyboard and mouse ports; and it appears to the computer as its
physical keyboard and mouse (virtual keyboard and virtual mouse).

Guardian's keyboard and mouse emulators insure automatic booting and
flawless operation of the computer without its keyboard or mouse
connected. Guardian also converts all keyboard and mouse signals to PS/2
keyboard and PS/2 mouse, and has two Mini-DIN 6-pin ports to "hot plug"
and use a PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 mouse at any time. This capability is
valuable for:

* The booting and operation of a network server with no physical
  keyboard or mouse connected.
* Hot-plugging a keyboard and mouse into a powered computer at any
  time.
* Automatic booting and error-free switching of computers connected
  to a mechanical switch.
* Providing redundant reliability to any mission-critical network
server that is connected to an electronic keyboard/mouse switch and
eliminating the potential of a single point of failure.

Guardian for AT -- 5-pin keyboard and serial (DB9) mouse and Guardian for
PS/2 -- 6-pin keyboard and 6-pin mouse are both priced at $85 and will
begin shipping in June. Guardian for Mac and Guardian for Sun also convert
the video signals to VGA and include a 15-pin VGA port to connect a VGA
monitor. They are priced at $ 150 and will be shipping in July.
