INDUSTRY'S SMALLEST AND MOST FUNCTIONAL PC/104 MODULE FROM S-MOS SYSTEMS
AND INTELEC TECHNOLOGIES

NEW YORK, PC EXPO, June 20, 1995 --- S-MOS Systems and Intelec
Technologies, Elk Grove, Illinois, are now offering a new family of
highly-functional, PC-compatible, single-board computers (SBCs) in a
single-stack PC/104 form factor.

Called the S-MOS (or Intelec) PC104i, this new product represents both
company's continued marketing efforts targeting embedded and mobile
applications. The agreement between the two companies allows for both to
develop and market product extensions on an individual and separate
basis.

The PC104i measures 3.6 inches by 3.8 inches (90.2mm by 96mm). Intelec's
design uses the S-MOS CARDIO family of personal computer cards, making the
CARDIO family available in a PC/104 form factor and resulting in a highly
functional, single stack PC/104 product.

"No other single stack PC/104 SBC that we are aware of comes close to the
PC104i in functionality or upgradability," said Andy Mehta, president of
Intelec Technologies.

"To upgrade from an x86 to a 386 to a 486, you simply replace one S-MOS
CARDIO module with another," said Joel Silverman, director of card
products.

"Most other competitive solutions require the stacking of two or more
PC/104 modules to equal the functionality of our single PC104i," Joel
added.

Electronic medical systems, test and measurement instruments, automobiles,
machine and process controllers and many types of communications systems
have traditionally been designed using embedded control-based
microcontrollers.

With the PC104i designers can choose a small, PC-compatible, single board
computer, achieving more functionality and a greater choice of
peripherals, software drivers, operating systems and applications
libraries.

Market research firm Desktop Strategies of Los Altos, Calif., predicts that
by 1996, PC-compatible SBCs will represent more than $100 million of the
$780 million market for embedded board-level computers. Most of that $100
million will come from small form factor products, the firm also
predicts.

Availability and pricing

Sample quantities are available now. Production quantities from either
company will be available in Q3 1995.

Pricing for the PC104i starts at $290 in quantities of 100. Pricing for the
S-MOS CARDIO-486 starts at less than $800 in quantity, and less than $400
for the 386 version in quantity.

All pricing is dependent on memory and other system configuration
requirements.

S-MOS CARDIO evaluation kits are also available, ranging from $900 to
$2,300, depending on components (memory, hard and/or floppy disk drive,
LCD panel, etc.). Evaluation units can be ordered over the phone with a
credit card.

S-MOS has a national distribution network arranged through Nu Horizons
Inc., of Amityville, New York with offices in San Jose, Calif., and the
rest of the country.

S-MOS CARDIO

S-MOS CARDIO is a fully-functional, IBM AT computer that is literally the
size of a credit card (versions include Intel 386 or 486SL, and Chips and
Technologies 8-bit 8680). Measuring about 3.4 inches by 2.2 inches, this
100-percent, IBM-compatible personal computer is targeted for any handheld
or personal/mobile computing, communications and instrumentation
applications.

S-MOS CARDIO is also suited for embedded systems such as factory
automation, point-of-sale systems, test and measurement equipment, set-top
boxes, global positioning systems and other intelligence devices.

Intelec Technologies, Inc., designs, develops and markets standard and
semicustom board-level and card products targeting embedded control and
mobile applications. Intelec was founded in 1990 and is privately-held.

S-MOS Systems, Inc., designs, develops and markets custom and semicustom
ICs, subsystems and card products, and a variety of standard ICs for
low-power applications in desktop and smaller computing systems and
PCI-bus. The company also provides contract manufacturing through
corporate affiliate, Seiko Epson Corporation. S-MOS was founded in 1983
and is privately held.
