COMPOSER NOTES -- The WINHelp Glutility -- SHIPS

UDI Software introduces Point & Click Helpfile "Glue" for Windows
Applications.

Novato, CA -- June 20, 1995 -- UDI Software today announced it is shipping
Composer Notes, a new patent-pending Windows interface and helpfile
glutility for all Windows users. Without programming or the need for
source code, Composer Notes allows the user to attach custom messages and
help topics, created with any Help Authoring Tool such as WYSI-Help
Composer, Forehelp, RoboHelp, etc. to any element in one or multiple
Windows applications. Composer Notes, an easy to use, point & click, cross
application development "SuiteStick" turns a user's standard application
software into company-specific customized application suites.

"Composer Notes is a unique, powerful tool that allows users to create
on-line personalized procedures to stick to existing applications.
Composer Notes is pure simplicity. This product improves a computer's
usability," said Seymour Rubinstein, Chairman and CEO of UDI Software.
"Just capture the objects, type in the bubble and/or title bar messages,
and link context sensitive help topics as needed. Now users can launch
applications in a particular context! This feature makes Composer Notes
invaluable to any corporation or business."

"Composer Notes solves one of the greatest problems of today' s business
environment -- the transfer of skills and investment in training -- in a
"rightsized", more efficient corporate environment. The use of Composer
Notes extends the use of standard software by enabling the integration of
customized applications without the need for programming," continued
Rubinstein.

Context sensitive messages match the user's work situation and display
relevant information without the user having to search for it. Context
Sensitive Help is typically created by embedding the calls for help topics
in the source code of the application. Unlike these traditional methods,
Composer Notes creates context sensitive links without the need to modify
or access the source code of any target application. This allows help
authors to make context sensitive links to third party applications.
Composer Notes enhances workflow through its unique ability to attach
personalized help and on-line procedures to Windows objects in any
collection of Windows programs.

Perfect for use within corporations and businesses, Composer Notes provides
the integrating 'gluestick' for application software. For example, when a
user is faced with a new procedure, properly authored Composer Notes can
lead her/him through the task step-by-step. Composer Notes launches the
necessary help topics, voice mail messages, and/or video clips. The
procedure may include one or more help topics, created using any Help
Authoring Tool, and one or more bubble help messages created with Composer
Notes. Composer Notes allows even non-programmers to create and benefit
from cross-application procedures in a matter of minutes.

Composer Notes allows a user to capture any Windows object. An object is an
item in any application such as menus, individual menu items, dialog
boxes, buttons in dialog boxes, and editable fields, and linked to a title
bar, bubble help message or a help topic. Composer Notes captures a
Windows object by clicking the right mouse button when the object is in
focus. After capture, a series of options can be assigned to the object;
it can be linked to a help topic in a help file, to bubble help, to a
short help message, or to a sound/video file.

After the objects are captured and linked, the Composer Notes application
can be run on any computer with a small runtime component. This
Surveillance engine monitors mouse movements and help requests for the
user. It then launches the appropriate action you (or someone else in your
organization) defined when the captured object comes into "focus".

Composer Notes requires Microsoft Windows 3.1 or later, 1 MB RAM memory and
2 MB of hard disk space.

Composer Notes has a suggested retail price of $129.00 and is available
direct from UDI Software. For further information or to purchase the
