Zenith Data Systems' CruisePAD wins "Best Product" at VarVision/Spring '95

Wireless remote PC interface wins third industry award

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. -- June 8, 1995 -- Zenith Data Systems (ZDS) announced
today that CruisePAD was named "Best Product" at VarVision/Spring '95
recently held in Phoenix, Ariz. The wireless remote control device won the
award based on votes from approximately 70 of the nation's top value-added
resellers participating in the MicroVision event co-sponsored by Computer
Reseller News and VARBusiness magazines. ZDS' new hand-held CruisePAD
competed against a broad range of products from leading vendors including
Microsoft, Novell, IBM and Digital Equipment.

"The VARs and integrators we recruit for VarVision are major players in the
industry ranked by revenue and expertise," explained Peter Eisenhauer of
MicroVision. "Winning 'Best Product' means ZDS has done a really good job
of applying CruisePAD to real-world applications and getting very savvy
resellers excited about presenting the new technology to their
customers."

The VarVision event, held twice a year, pairs VARs and vendors in a series
of direct boardroom meetings to exchange information about the reseller
market and the direction of new technology. A secret ballot is cast for an
overall "Best Product" award.

Award-winning Wireless

In addition to being named "Best Product" at VarVision, CruisePAD recently
was commended by the Industrial Designers Society of America in the "'95
Industrial Design Excellence Awards" sponsored by Business Week magazine.
This annual list of winners is published recognizing excellence in product
design spanning the spectrum from computers to bike helmets. One hundred
fifty corporations and independent design firms received gold, silver and
bronze awards. CruisePAD captured a bronze for ZDS and its design partner
Lunar Design.

CruisePAD was also previously crowned "Best Wireless LAN" product at the
first annual Mobile Insights '95 Mobility Awards in January of this year.
For that prestigious award, CruisePAD competed against products by Aironet
Wireless, Soletck and Proxim. The Mobile Insights '95 Mobility Awards
recognize achievement in the mobile computing and data communications
industry.

"We are thrilled with CruisePAD's industry awards and even more delighted
with customer response since the units started shipping," commented Alan
Soucy, vice president of advanced portables and mobile systems for ZDS.
"This product has been a winner from the start, and is destined to be a
leader in wireless solutions."

CruisePAD and VARS -- A Dynamic Duo

CruisePAD remotely controls desktop or notebook computers, enabling users
to access and manipulate applications and data when they are away from
their PCs. The hand-held device weighs approximately three pounds and
features an 8.5-inch backlit, touch display with an onscreen keyboard.
CruisePAD runs on a wireless LAN that uses spread-spectrum
frequency-hopping technology to ensure secure data transmission.

"The ZDS CruisePAD was clearly one of the most unique and exciting products
at VarVision this spring," said MicroVision's Eisenhauer. "CruisePAD
captures VARs' imaginations -- makes them look toward the future and into
new ways of using technology."

Zenith Data Systems plans to deliver CruisePAD almost exclusively through
VARs that offer total business solutions in vertical markets for which
CruisePAD is ideally suited and in high demand, such as health-care,
retail, manufacturing, repair and delivery services. Value-added resellers
can provide the complete package of hardware, software and integration
services customers need, along with the experience and expertise in mobile
applications to optimize use of CruisePAD in the field.

"The VarVision award puts ZDS and CruisePAD right in the center of the VAR
radar screen today, just when their customers are looking for wireless
mobile solutions," said ZDS' Soucy. "VARs and CruisePAD are a perfect
match, and together we are going to take the market by storm."
