ASK ME MULTIMEDIA CENTER OFFERS THE NEW AND IMPROVED SST 1.1 FREE TO
REGISTERED USERS

Minneapolis, MN, March, 1994....A significant upgrade is now available for
the popular interactive, multimedia Windows presentation software, SST
(Super Show & Tell) from Ask Me Multimedia Center. SST 1.1 is being
offered free to registered users, or at a suggested retail price of $149.
Using the intuitive metaphor of a slide carousel, SST allows the user to
create a complete slide presentation, including motion and sound, without
ever leaving the main editing screen. It is so easy-to-use that we
guarantee that the user can create a multimedia presentation within an
hour of sitting down with the program, or return it for a full refund. The
company is also offering "A Guide To Multimedia" on CD-ROM as an option to
work in conjunction with SST. The CD-ROM includes suggestions about how to
create great presentations using SST, sample applications, and over 100
royalty-free clips consisting of BMP, WAV, MIDI, FLC and AVI files, as
well as specially designed templates and bullets
tor use in SST.

SST 1.1 includes 20 new features. Some of the most important ones include
enhanced memory management, advanced branching capabilities, new
transitional effects, the ability to preview a slide before jumping to it,
action within an action capabilities and improved video production
features.

Advanced Video Production Features

In SST 1.1, when a hot spot is triggered, the user may define sound or
movie files to play on the same slide, hence creating an action within an
action. SST adds enhanced support for the latest version of Video for
Windows (AVI), as well as additional graphics formats, such as WMF, CGM
and Kodak Photo CD. SST becomes a video production studio in a PC when one
uses it to show multiple AVI files on the same screen, resize them and
move them while they are playing. A dominant palette may be selected to
control flashing while an AVI file is playing. Length of play time can be
controlled with the Action Playlist. The playback of AVI files can be
interrupted at anytime by pressing the "Esc" key. Other actions can be
executed while an AVI file is playing, such as an on-screen move of text,
graphics and other media elements.

Other SST 1.1 enhancements are: auto-save and back-up options in the menu
selection, the ability to print out selected slides in the SST carousel,
and previewing of slides before jumping to them. Making transitions is
considerably more exciting now that the user can choose from 25 new
transitional effects, for example...fade to black, sparkle and slides
entering on the diagonal. Playback is much faster and smoother with
enhanced memory management. And, with the added branching feature,
carousels can now call upon specific slides within other carousels at any
point in a presentation.

SST is the only multimedia presentation software that allows the user to
create interactive multimedia presentations in a free-form environment. It
supports all popular graphics, animation, sound and digital video formats.
SST is amazingly intuitive and easy to use.

Presentations developed with SST use a slide carousel with VCR-like
controls as a metaphor and include sound and motion without having to use
a complex authoring language.

WHO USES SST

SST is perfectly suited for the business and home office market. For
example, business people can choose to present pertinent information by
utilizing colorful charts, still-frame pictures and text with the addition
of sound and motion, thus making the presentations more exciting and
effective. Additional major users include sales and marketing people who
want to make a custom interactive multimedia presentation, the home PC
hobbyist who enjoys the latest technology has to offer (i.e. creating home
photo albums or interactive resumes) and teachers who want to produce
their own interactive educational tools, as well as students who prefer to
dazzle their classmates rather than put them to sleep.

EASE OF USE

SST is so easy-to-use because you have all of the elements necessary to
create exciting multimedia presentations right in front of you. Your
screen consists of: a 1/4 screen preview window, five thumbnail slides
(the one you are presently working on, two before it and two after it), a
set of VCR control buttons, a set of positioning controls for alignment
and centering, a control tor slide sorting, a status bar at the bottom of
the screen and a modeless editing section for deciding which elements you
are going to incorporate into your slide. (Modeless editing allows the
user to smoothly switch among six different "Media" editors, without
leaving the original screen). In addition, SST features context-sensitive
help throughout.

Starting is simple...Everything is controlled by clicking on your desired
elements with your mouse. To begin, you move your cursor to the "Media"
button and click on it. A menu offers a choice of: Text, Image, Sound,
Draw or Movie. If you select Image, you are automatically switched into
the editing mode, and a "Select Picture" button pops onto the screen.
Clicking on the "Select Picture" button brings forth a menu of available
images, which can be selected, making them appear in the preview window.

Next, you might decide you want to incorporate some text into your slide.
Clicking on "Media" and selecting "Text" switches you into the Text mode.
Go over to the Text line and type in the words you want your slide to
display. An "Actions" menu allows you to add an unlimited number of
actions for every object in the slide.

When you are finished, you receive instant gratification by clicking on the
rewind button, then on play, and watch the interactive multimedia
presentation that you've just created with SST. SST is the only
presentation software that allows you to create and view your application
without ever leaving the original screen. Very sophisticated slides are
designed with ease. Once several slides have been made, they can be easily
rearranged in the carousel into a slide show with motion and sound, using
the built-in slide sorter.
