EA*Kids Releases First Children's Television Workshop Title

Sesame Street: Numbers
Elmo, Bert, Ernie, & Big Bird Come to Life on 3DO

SAN MATEO, Calif., June 24, 1994 -- EA*Kids and the Children's Television
Workshop have produced their first title for the 3DO Interactive
Multiplayer system. Sesame Street: Numbers is a delightful early learning
game that introduces children ages 3-6 to the world of numbers while
maintaining the quality look and feel of the beloved, classic Sesame
Street television series. EA*Kids is the children's software division of
Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS), a global leader in the interactive
entertainment industry.

Sesame Street: Numbers engages children in the learning process as they
interact with their favorite Sesame Street characters. Elmo acts as host,
guiding children through the expansive and varied environment of the
Sesame Street world. Elmo responds appropriately to children's actions and
encourages them in their quests. Children explore the street itself, as
well as Bert and Ernie's house, the Count's castle, and Big Bird's nest.
In each setting, they interact with the characters, investigate and solve
math-based games, and activate amusing animations -- all of which
stimulate the child's imagination. The title also includes more than an
hour of music and video clips from the television show.

"CTW (Children's Television Workshop) and EA*Kids have a similar
philosophy--that kids learn when they're engaged, and engagement stems
from open-ended discovery and creative explorations," said Greg Bestick,
vice president and general manager of EA*Kids. "All of the activities in
Sesame Street: Numbers reflect that thinking."

While playing Sesame Street: Numbers, children practice counting and number
recognition and are introduced to a variety of math concepts. These
include the introduction of "classification," "sets," and "near and far."
Children are actively encouraged throughout their play by The Sesame
Street characters themselves. This positive approach boosts children's
confidence and develops communication skills as well. As the characters
react and respond appropriately to a child's actions, they promote an
understanding of cause and effect.

Designed to optimize the graphic and data transfer power of the 3DO system,
Sesame Street: Numbers features smooth animations, digitized speech
recorded by the actual television actors, and an interactive "television
set" where children can play back clips from the TV show.

The first title (of many) to be produced under EA*Kids and CTW's exclusive
agreement Sesame Street: Numbers combines the talents of both companies to
create a greater whole. CTW provides concept and curriculum development,
product design, and research with children. EA*Kids provides its expertise
in game design and software development as well as supplies marketing and
distribution services.

Sesame Street: Numbers for the 3DO platform is available now nationwide at
a suggested retail price of $49.95. Look for this title on the PC CD and
MAC CD platforms this fall.
