NEC TECHNOLOGIES ENHANCES ISV DEVELOPER PROGRAM FOR WINDOWS NT
Offers Special Pricing on Developer Systems

(Atlanta, GA, June 1, 1994) -- In order to support growing demand from
software developers for MIPS RISC platforms for Windows NT, NEC
Technologies, Inc. (NECT) today has announced the availability of a
special purchasing package for its Independent Software Vendor (ISV)
program. The purchasing program, an enhancement to NECT's "business to
business to business program," enables qualified ISVs to purchase
pre-configured Image RISCstation and Express RISCserver systems for
development and demonstration purposes at special developer prices ranging
from U.S. $3,975 to U.S. $11,129.

NECT, which offers a high performance VR4400 MIPS RISC processor-based
family of workstation and server platforms specifically designed for
Windows NT, exploits the advanced functionality inherent in Windows NT,
including multi-threaded I/O and symmetric multiprocessing through the
multiprocessor architecture.

"To effectively compete in the Windows NT market, ISVs need to develop and
deliver applications quickly and efficiently,'' said Kevin Walsh, manager
of NECT ISV program. "NEC's special purchase program will enable ISVs to
utilize leading price/performance RISC-based platforms in their
development environment to help speed this process along."

Software companies that have already developed applications for the NT
environment and run on Image RISCstation and Express RISCserver systems
include Microsoft, Executive Software, SQL Business Systems, Inc. and
Welcom Software Technology.

NEC's Developer program was implemented last fall to provide software
developers the opportunity to build and port applications for the Windows
NT environment. The program provides ISVs with access to a variety of
programs, including business plans for the MIPS RISC Windows NT market,
sales channels, market promotional campaigns and technical support and
assistance.
