SPA Appoints New Director of Litigation

June 3, 1994 (Washington, DC) -- The Software Publishers Association (SPA)
announced today the appointment of Sandra A. Sellers as director of
litigation. In this position Sellers will be responsible for managing all
litigation activities for the SPA's anti-piracy efforts, both
international and domestic.

"Sandy's broad experience as an intellectual property litigator in the
public and private sector will be a valuable asset in our actions against
copyright offenders," said SPA Executive Director Ken Wasch. SPA, which
already has a strong domestic piracy enforcement campaign, will expand its
presence against software pirates internationally under Sellers'
direction. Her efforts represent yet another signal that the software
industry will not tolerate the unauthorized duplication and use of
computer software.

Prior to joining the SPA, Sellers was a partner in the Washington, DC
office of Willian, Brinks, Hofer, Gilson & Lione, where, for the past ten
years, she specialized in intellectual property litigation. She has spoken
and written extensively on intellectual property litigation, particularly
litigation before the US International Trade Commission. Before entering
private practice, Sellers was attorney-advisor to the Chief Administrative
Law Judge of the US International Trade Commission. Sellers has served as
President of the International Trade Commission Trial Lawyers Association,
and has been active in the International Committee of the International
Trademark Association, as well as in other professional organizations.

Sellers received her J.D. from George Washington University, and a B.A.
from Dickinson College.

The SPA is charged with fighting software piracy on behalf of the PC
software industry. To date, the SPA has taken more than 1400 actions
against organizations using software illegally, including lawsuits and
software audits.

The Software Publishers Association is the principal trade group of the PC
software industry. Its 1,100 members represent the leading publishers in
the business, consumer and education software markets. The SPA has offices
in Washington, DC, and Paris, France.
