Folio, Watermark Software Announce Joint Development Effort to Image-enable
Folio VIEWS 3.1

June 28, 1994, Salt Lake City, Utah --Folio Corporation and Watermark
Software today announced that they are engaged in a joint development
project to image-enable Folio VIEWS 3.1, the new family of infobase
products from Folio. An image-enabled version of Folio VIEWS 3.1 will
allow users to seamlessly add paper and fax documents to infobases,
greatly improving their ability to locate and manage information in
mission-critical applications. The software will be demonstrated this week
at Infobase '94

The image-enabling component for Folio VIEWS 3.1, which will ship in the
third quarter of 1994, will provide Folio VIEWS users with the ability to
access seamlessly the scanning, ExperVision OCR, and image storage
capabilities of Watermark Professional Edition In addition, the
integration will provide Watermark Professional Edition users with the
powerful full-text retrieval and information management capabilities of
Folio VIEWS 3.1.

"Although Folio infobases can easily incorporate and link to graphical
images, the focus of Folio Infobase Technology has primarily been on
providing users with the ability to quickly access and adapt the textual
content of the information they are managing," said Tracy Scott, president
of Folio Corporation "With the addition of the scanning, OCR and imaging
capabilities of Watermark Professional, Folio VIEWS users will have the
ability to effectively manage both content and images."

"The Watermark focus is to provide users with access to images via their
standard desktop applications, such as Folio VIEWS," said David Skok,
president and CEO at Watermark Software "This integration brings
tremendous advantages to organizations by enabling them to manage all
their information in one common environment that is accessible throughout
the corporate network."

The integration between Folio VIEWS 3.1 and Watermark Professional Edition
is accomplished through the extension API (application programming
interface) of Folio's newly announced Software Developers Kit, and the OLE
2.0 automation features in Watermark Professional Edition End users can
access Watermark's imaging, scanning and OCR capabilities through a
Watermark menu that will be added to the Folio VIEWS 3.1 Infobase Manager
client

How Users Will Benefit

Users will benefit from the integration of the two products in many
ways--such as retrieving and incorporating scanned information while
working in mission-critical applications, cataloging scanned images, and
eliminating paper from work processes.

For example, a researcher preparing a report on the competitive climate for
a new business venture might gather information from a variety of
sources--from market research, magazine articles, internal competitor
tracking reports and competitor literature. To create an infobase from the
various sources, the researcher would simply scan the articles and run
Watermark's OCR conversion process from within Folio VIEWS to create the
infobase.

After creating the infobase, the researcher would then be able to execute
rapid searches across all of the research to determine trends,
similarities between competitors, possible positioning scenarios, and
weaknesses in competitors' product offerings. Information of value to the
report could be cut and pasted directly to the researcher's word
processing program, and any information of interest could be highlighted,
logically grouped, linked to other information (perhaps a spreadsheet
analyzing the market potential), or adapted in any number of ways to meet
the specific needs of the project.

Another benefit of the Folio/Watermark solution is the ability to take
information from the infobase and share it with co-workers in a real-time,
collaborative effort, or to select information that can be seamlessly
shared with others through Watermark's e-mail and fax capabilities.
