Kith and Kin -- Genealogy Software for Windows

Kith and Kin is a shareware genealogy database for Windows which has taken
genealogists and family historians in the UK by storm. Due to increased
shareware distribution started with version 2.0, this software is
currently available to users all over the world. Now, SpanSoft is
delighted to announce the release of version 2.02, the first ASP release
of Kith and Kin.

The product...

Kith and Kin is a software package for documenting and storing family trees
which, because it has been specially written to utilise the features of
Windows, has an attractive, easy to use graphical interface with lots of
easily recognisable icons. It is the only genealogy shareware to use a
graphical representation of the family tree which can be formatted by the
user and used to access data. It is an extremely user-friendly package,
aimed at the amateur family historian who wants an easily controlled
program which will produce quality documentation of his research.

Kith and Kin also features powerful multi-level editing tools which means
the user can traverse the tree whilst adding and editing people and
families. The program supports date and place of births, marriages and
deaths as well as multiple marriages and aliases for each person.
Pictures, diagrams, sounds, etc may be embedded in or linked to a person
or family via Windows OLE.

A printed book can be produced with family group details (which may
incorporate pictures and diagrams) and a complete, cross-referenced index
to names and families. The user has control over the formatting and extent
of all printed reports which also include person details, tree layout,
descendant and ancestral trees.

Compatibility with "Personal Ancestral File" GEDCOM files allows the user
to export and import data to and from other genealogy programs as well as
allowing the preparation of extracts from tree files.

What the users say...

At SpanSoft we know that Kith and Kin is a great program - but don't just
take our word for it! The following are all unsolicited comments from
users and the press.

"Kith and Kin is a robust and simple to use genealogy program for Windows
3.1. This is a good program if you are the least bit interested in
researching the genealogical history of your family. It is easy enough for
the beginner and casual data
collector, yet has enough bells and whistles to set it apart from other
programs and make your work seem like the fun it should be." - Windows

New in release 2.0

Many new features and enhancements have been added to the program in
consultation with existing users.

* Support for PAF GEDCOM files (the Genealogical Data
Communication standard) is now included. Export and import
data to and from other genealogy programs. Create a new tree
or merge the GEDCOM file with an existing tree.
. A Person Details printout is now available for printing details
  of one or more people.

to show if any notes or objects are present.

  have no parents or marriages.
* The dialog fields and controls now have hot-keys to speed up
  keyboard use.
* Due to the length of time taken to load larger GEDCOM files,
a status indicator bar is displayed each time any file type
is opened or saved. Clicking on the Cancel button will abort
  the process.
. The Descendant and Ancestral trees now have titles and have
been improved to handle multi-page printing. Printers which
