Street Seeker San Francisco

Fremont, CA, July 11, 1994.--Mines Road Books, Fremont, CA, announces
Street Seeker San Francisco, a new HyperCard-based street-finding software
for the Macintosh. It can find every street, road, court, and alley in
the City and County of San Francisco, California. It can also find
freeway onramps and offramps, museums, public buildings, parks,
playgrounds, train stations, and other tourist attractions. Major streets
can be searched by block numbers.

The detailed street map is in black-and-white and is at a scale of about 1
to 12,500. Most of the streets are labelled, the major streets show block
numbers, and one-way streets are indicated. This is the most up-to-date
map available for San Francisco, and is accurate as of 1993. This map
shows more streets and is more current than that in other street-finding
programs. Street Seeker can find streets faster than the ones on CD-ROM,
because there is no map redrawing involved. Unlike the CD-ROM programs,
Street Seeker is small enough to use in PowerBooks on the road.

Street Seeker is easy to use. Just click on a name in the index and
instantly the map is shown with a flashing arrow pointing at your
selection. Zoom in and out or glide around the whole city simply by
clicking well-labelled buttons. Make your own annotations right on the
map using HyperCard's drawing tools. It's also easy to print the map.
Building symbols are shown for schools, museums, post offices, and other
public buildings. Clicking directly on the building symbols will bring up
information about its address, hours opened, phone number, or what to see
and do.

Street Seeker San Francisco will run on any Macintosh with System 6.0.5 and
1 megabyte of RAM. It requires HyperCard Player or HyperCard 2.0 or
higher. HyperCard Player is shipped with Street Seeker. Available on
choice of double or high density disks. List price $25 plus tax (CA only)
and shipping and handling. Send orders to Mines Road Books, P.O. Box
3185, Fremont, CA 94539, or call (510) 651-2514.
