Apple Computer and AGE Logic Sign Agreement to Enhance X Server Software
for Macintosh and Power Macintosh

Software Provides Link To UNIX Applications

CUPERTINO, California, July 25, 1994--Apple Computer, Inc. announced today
the signing of a multi-year technology cross-licensing and development
agreement with AGE Logic, Inc. of San Diego, CA. Under the terms of the
agreement, Apple and AGE will exchange source code and technology for
Apple's MacX product family and AGE's XoftWare/32 X Window software. The
two companies have agreed to work together to produce the highest
performance X server for the Macintosh market that will enable customers
to use Apple Macintosh computers to effectively access applications on
their UNIX systems.

The agreement will result in a major upgrade for MacX product family from
Apple, planned for release later this year. The upgrade will include
support for the X Window System Version 11, Release 5 standard and be
accelerated for the Power Macintosh computer system. AGE is also planning
to use the agreement to enter the Macintosh computer X Window market with
XoftWare for Macintosh later this year.

"This exciting new agreement between AGE and Apple will result in major
benefits to the Apple community," said AGE Logic's president and chief
executive officer, Peter J. Shaw. "The new X server software will provide
Macintosh users with state-of-the-art access to UNIX and other networked
systems with the proven ease-of-use of the Macintosh environment. The
licensing agreement strongly complements Apple's sophisticated workstation
technology and extends AGE's product offering to every major desktop
computing platform."

According to Guerrino De Luca, vice president of sales and marketing,
AppleSoft Division at Apple Computer, "One of Apple's missions is to
provide Macintosh customers with the best possible access to applications
and information residing on other computer systems. Accessing UNIX-based
applications and data, using the X Window System, is important for
customers in many of our business segments. Apple's agreement with AGE
Logic will result in significant upgrades to MacX that will meet the needs
of our customers who use applications on UNIX systems."

Details of Apple's plans for the MacX upgrade and AGE's plans regarding
XoftWare for Macintosh will be available from each respective company
later this year.
