BADGER INTRODUCES FIRST FULL 486 OUTDOOR PEN BASED HANDHELD COMPUTER WITH
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION

Embedded Wireless Capabilities Include Cellular/CDPD, ARDIS, RAM and Spread
Spectrum

Tampa, Florida -- August 8, 1994 -- Badger Computers introduced today its
Badger GT-486P2, the first wireless pen-based outdoor handheld computer
with all the functionality of a full-sized 486 PC, and ruggedized to
withstand any harsh environmental or industrial field conditions. The
small, 3.5-pound GT486P2 is the first pen-based handheld computer to
feature embedded wireless options for cellular/CDPD, ARDIS, RAM, and
Spread Spectrum. The GT-486P2 is the second pen-based product introduced
by Badger Computers.

Badger Computers is a division of Group Technologies Corporation
(NASDAQ:GRTK), the world's eighth-largest independent electronic contract
manufacturer.

"This new Badger is the first handheld pen-based computer that can brave
the elements, and also provide the needed communication link for the
mobile user," said Jeanne Kuehner, manager, Badger Computers. "The Badger
GT-486P2 provides real time wireless communication to mobile users for
dispatch, database access, and billing, greatly increasing productivity
and efficiency."

The unit's ruggedness meets the mobile data collection, processing, and
communication demands of outdoor users in public safety; law enforcement;
field service; transportation; utility companies; government and others.

The highly-reliable 10.6-inch by 6.0-inch by 2.1-inch Badger GT-486P2 uses
a 25MHz Cyrix 486SLC microprocessor and comes with a 40 megabyte (MB) hard
drive upgradeable to 128MB, and 4MB of RAM upgradeable to 20MB. A solid
state disk up to 80MB of capacity is optional. The unit features a 6-inch
backlit VGA (640x480) display, two type II or one type III PCMCIA slots,
pen input, and I/O ports for serial, parallel, external keyboard, external
VGA and optional fax/modem. The internal wireless radio modem options
include cellular/CDPD (both data and voice), ARDIS, RAM, and spread
spectrum with integral antenna.

The Badger GT-486P2 features a four-hour internal battery and spare battery
with an external docking station for quick charging of the unit.

The Badger GT-486P2 will be marketed directly and through value-added
resellers (VARs) specializing in outdoor applications, who will bundle the
unit with software designed for particular usage. The unit will be
available in volume in Q4 1994. The list price is $4,495.

The Badger GT-486P2 was developed in response to the increasing market
demand for a rugged pen-based device with embedded wireless
communications. The Badger GT-486P2 is the second pen-based computer to
meet rugged standards for resistance to all environmental conditions. The
Badger GT486-P1 computer was introduced earlier this year. Both units are
based on the Dauphin Technology, Inc. family of portable pen-based DTR
computers. The Badger GT-486P2's ruggedness and high reliability are due
tO ruggedized packaging technology developed for harsh military
conditions.
