BADGER COMPUTERS INTRODUCES RUGGED OUTDOOR FULL 486 NOTEBOOK COMPUTER WITH
WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS

New Badger GT-486N Specifically Manufactured For Harsh Environments;
Embedded Wireless Capabilities Include Cellular/CDPD, ARDIS, RAM, and
Spread Spectrum

Tampa, FL -- August 18, 1994 --Badger Computers introduced today the Badger
GT-486N, the first full-486 lightweight notebook computer to meet military
specification standards for ruggedness and includes embedded wireless
communications capabilities. The notebook size Badger is designed for
mobile data collection, distribution, processing and wireless
communications featuring a powerful 486-based architecture.

Badger Computers is a division of Group Technologies Corporation
(NASDAQ:GRTK), the world's eighth-largest independent electronic contract
manufacturer.

The highly-reliable, GT-486N is the newest entry in a line of Badger
portable computers priced substantially less than comparable ruggedized
units currently marketed to the commercial, industrial or military
markets. The lightweight wireless unit has the functionality options of a
powerful full-sized computer, featuring memory expandability up to 24
megabytes (MB), hard disk drive capacity up to 400MB, 486 DX4 75MHz CPU,
and dual PCMCIA slots (Type II or single Type III). The Badger GT486N will
be marketed directly as well as through value-added resellers specializing
in outdoor applications, who will bundle the unit with software designed
for particular vertical applications.

"Field computing demands a notebook with processing power, wireless
communication, and a go-any-where attitude," said Jeanne Kuehner, manager,
Badger Computers. "The GT-486N ruggedized notebook can do just that."

Target markets include public safety; law enforcement; field service;
transportation; utility companies; government and others.

The GT-486N joins Badger Computers' extensive line of rugged computers
aimed at the mobile computing market. This includes a 486 portable
pen-based model, a 386 based arm-held model, a 486-based modular vehicular
computer, and a PC-AT equivalent handheld unit. The Badger product family
is designed to meet the needs of a broad group of potential outdoor PC
users, providing ruggedness, wireless communications, low cost, compact
size and light weight. The Badger GT-486N is available now at a suggested
single unit list price of $5995. FEATURES

The 11.8-inch by 9.0-inch by 2.9-inch, lightweight (6.5 pounds with
battery) Badger GT-486N provides near real-time access to data in any
environment, including those previously considered too severe for mobile
computers. This new mobile computing product category includes any outdoor
applications. The unit meets Mil-Spec standards for resistance to extreme
temperatures, rain, humidity, fungus, salt, fog, blowing sand, chemicals,
vibration, shock, and drop.

The Badger GT-486N features an 80486SX CPU running at 33 MHz, but can
support a 486DX-33, 486DX2-50 or a 486DX4-75 CPU. The unit comes standard
with 4MB of RAM upgradeable to 24MB, an internal 128 MB hard disk
upgradeable to 400MB, or optional solid state disks up to 80MB. The unit
is also available with an optional internal 3.5 inch floppy disk drive.
Interfaces include two RS-232 serial ports, parallel, power and expansion
port as well as an optional internal wireless data radio. The unit
includes an 85 key QWERTY keyboard and 10-inch VGA LCD backlit display.
The PCMCIA interface supports two Type II or a single Type III card.

The Badger GT-486N comes with MS-DOS 6.2 installed and can be optionally
equipped with Windows 3.1 or OS/2. Battery and power options include a
NIMH rechargeable battery pack capable of 8 hours typical operation on a
single charge, plus a vehicle power and AC power adapter.

Badger Computers is a division of Group Technologies Corp., a $250 million
electronics contract manufacturer founded 29 years ago as a Honeywell
"Center of Manufacturing Excellence," which was purchased in 1989 by an
independent financial group. The company's growth is based on the dramatic
explosion of the contract manufacturing market, along with internal
expansion from market diversification, acquisitions, and branded products.
Group Technologies employs over 1600 people at its two Tampa, Florida
locations, and an additional 300 people at Denver-based Metrum, Inc., a
wholly owned subsidiary. The company is located at 10901 Malcolm McKinley
Drive, Tampa, Florida 33612, 800-322-3437.
