ANNOUNCING DXP SHELL 1.0
PM Interface for Disk eXPress 2.31 or Later

WHAT IS DXP SHELL?

DXP Shell is a VX-Rexx program that provides a full PM interface to DXP
2.31 for OS/2. Many agree that DXP (c), Albert Shan, is the very best
program for the storing, and archiving of their diskettes in the form of
diskette images. I agree.

But, DXP is not without its limitations. For example, the only interface
options for DXP are the OS/2 or OS/2-DOS command lines. Some see this as
an advantage, due to the fact that PM and the WPS are not requried to make
use of the program. But, it's command line nature also has the achillies
heel of requriring the user to become familiar with a multititude of
command line switches. Especially if the user decides to make use of
some of the more advanced features of the program.

This is where DXP Shell comes in. DXP Shell provides the DXP user with a
PM interface complete with Entry Fields, Check Boxes, List Boxes, Radio
Buttons, and Command Buttons. These controls allow the user to *visually*
manipulate the command line options for DXP. This insures that the
diskette is imaged as intended without the need for viewing the DXP help
screens each time you image or print a diskette.

DXP Shell can also allow users to setup WPS associations with their
diskette images and DXP Shell. This gives users the advantage of being
able to simply double-click on an existing diskette image to spawn a
instance of DXP Shell. Then the user may print a diskette, edit or
create a description for the image, etc..., all without the need to even
know the command line options for DXP!

DISTRIBUTION

DXP Shell is being distributed as shareware, and is fully Copyrighted (c)
by Larry R. Tubbs Jr.. Users are given license to use the product for 60
days after which time they are expected to register to continue using the
product. DXP Shell is *NOT* crippled in any way. Also, it is not set to
'drop dead' after a specified number of days. It is a complete, working
copy of DXP Shell. The only difference between the shareware version and
the registered version is that the shareware version has the word
"Unregistered" after the name DXP Shell in the Product Information dialog
box.

DXP Shell can be found at all the usual electronic sources. For a complete

FILES REQUIRED

DXP Shell is just that -- A shell. It requires that you possess a copy of
Disk eXPress (DXP) version 2.31 or later, and that it is properly
installed and configured.

DXP can be found at ALL of the above sources for DXP Shell under the
archive name DXP234.ZIP (current version as of this writing). It is also
a shareware program, but it is written by another author, Albert Shan, who
reserves all rights relating to his program.

DXP Shell also requires another file other than the ones shipped in its
archive in order to function correctly. DXP Shell was created using
VX-Rexx 2.0b, (c) Watcom International. All VX-Rexx programs require a
file called VROBJ.DLL (the VX-Rexx run-time module) in order to function.
If you are a VX-Rexx user or already have another VX-Rexx program that
utilizes VROBJ.DLL version 2.0b or later, you need not seek it out again.
If you do *NOT* have a copy of this file, it can be obtained at all of
the above sources mentioned above for DXP Shell. The latest version of
VROBJ.DLL can always be obtained from:

        rexx.uwaterloo.ca : pub/os2/vxrexx
          or
        ftp.netcom.com : pub/ltubbs

VROBJ20B.ZIP is the archive containing the latest and greatest version of
VROBJ.DLL as of this writing.
