Vanished without a trade.... Found with CompuTrace!

A clear and present danger

Last year alone, nearly $10 billion worth of computer equipment was stolen
in North America. And that stastic is on the rise.

Just by buying a portable computer, you've doubled the chances that your
computer will be stolen.

And if you think it will never happen to you, think about what you would
lose if, one day, your computer vanished without a trace.

You'd probably give just about anything to get it back. But odds are you'll
never see your computer again. Unless, of course, you have CompuTrace.

CompuTrace can help you beat the odds and find your computer again

Using a virtually indestructible virus-like technology, CompuTrace is a
transparent "sentinel" program that hides deep in your computer's hard
drive. Silently and imperceptibly, at regular pre-programmed intervals,
the sentinel uses your computer's modem to report in to the CompuTrace
toll-free dedicated tracking line.

If, for any reason, the sentinel is unable to make its report on schedule,
it will immediately switch into Alert Mode. Thereafter, every ten seconds,
the sentinel will try to access a modem and call in a signal to the
CompuTrace tracking line.

If your computer has been reported lost or missing, we will be looking out
for that signal. As soon as it comes through, we'll be able to pinpoint
the origin of that call.

Invisibly Relentless

The CompuTrace sentinel lives in your computer, hidden deep in your hard
drive. It uses a mere 4K of memory, is compatible with DOS, Windows, and
your other applications, and will not hamper or interfere with the
operation of your computer. You won't even notice it's htere.

Neither will a thief. Even if your hard drive is re-formatted or your
computer is broken up and sold for parts, the CompuTrace sentinel remains
active and untraceable, and can only be removed by our proprietary
deinstallation program.

The Stealthy Scream

If your computer is stolen, as soon as the next user turns it on again, the
CompuTrace sentinel will stealthily attempt to access a modem every ten
seconds, automatically running through all the probably number sequences
until it succeeds in getting a call out to the CompuTrace tracking line.
The sentinel can operate through cellular modems, too.

As soon as the tracking line receives a signal from your computer, we will
record the origin of the call and relay that information to the
authorities to help them track the thieves and recover your computer.

This activity will be totally invisible to any one using your computer.

P.S. CompuTrace can be installed on any desktop computer - because
portables aren't the only ones that go missing!

What happens if your computer is stolen?

1. You phone the police, of course.

2. Then you call the toll-free CompuTrace Theft Hotline at 1-800-81-THEFT
to report the theft and give us your police report number. Accessible
throughout North America, the CompuTrace Theft Hotline is in service 24
hours a day, seven days a week.

3. Your computer's serial number will immediately be placed on Red Alert
and reported to the Stolen Computer Registry in New York for circulation
to police forces and computer equipment vendors across North America.

4. When your computer succeeds in reaching the CompuTrace tracking line, we
will pinpoint its whereabouts and notify the authorities.

Payback Time

The only cost for the CompuTrace sentinel is an annual subscriber fee of
$49.95.

It's little enough to pay for the security of knowing that your computer
will never disappear without a trace. Moreover, you can begin to realize a
return on your investment as soon as you activate because many insurers
are offering reduced premiums to CompuTrace subscribers. Ask your insurer
about it today.

If your insurer is not participating, we can help put you in touch with one
who is.

The Absolute Guarantee

If your computer is stolen and is NOT recovered within four months from the
time you reported the theft to us, we will pay yoru insurance deductible
up to $200.
