Apple Gives More Bang for the Buck with Enhanced Power Macintosh
Configurations

CUPERTINO, California--September 12, 1994--Extending its price/performance
leadership by adding value across the Power Macintosh line, Apple
Computer, Inc. today announced larger mass storage configurations of its
Power Macintosh computers. In response to the industry trend toward larger
hard disks, all configurations of Power Macintosh now feature a minimum of
250MBs and up to 1G of mass storage. Effective today worldwide, Apple has
upgraded numerous configurations throughout the Power Mac product line
without increasing prices. As a result of decreasing costs of mass storage
components, Apple has also reduced prices of configurations which were
already equipped with hard disks of at least 250MB, thus passing along
savings and increased value to customers.

"The enhanced configurations of Power Macintosh give Apple customers more
bang for the buck, and provide WinTel users with even more reasons to come
over to Macintosh ," said Ian Diery, executive vice president of Apple's
personal computer division. "Today's announcement is about adding even
greater value to the hands-down value leader in the PC marketplace."

Apple also announced the availability in the U.S. of the Power Macintosh AV
Card. With an Apple price of $479, the user-installable card allows
customers to upgrade any Power Mac 6100/60 configuration to a Power Mac
6100/60AV which features additional audio visual and multimedia
capabilities.

These moves to continuously offer increased value to customers come on the
heels of the smooth and successful transition of Apple customers to the
RISC-based Power Macintosh platform. Power Mac sales momentum continues at
a brisk pace amidst widespread customer acceptance, strong developer
support, and a continually growing array of native applications--currently
numbering over 250--including Microsoft's Office programs such as Excel
and Word. From mid-March through June 1994, Apple has shipped over 350,000
Power Macintosh systems.

The new configurations of the Power Macintosh in U.S. dollars (U.S. Apple
price/CPU only) include:
