ARTISOFT'S LANTASTIC NETWORK NAMED BEST PEER-TO-PEER NETWORK OPERATING
SYSTEM BY INFOWORLD MAGAZINE

(TUCSON, AZ--August 23, 1994)--Artisoft, Inc. announced today that its
LANtastic v6.0 network operating system was named the best peer-to-peer
network operating system in the August 15 issue of InfoWorld magazine.

InfoWorld chose LANtastic v6.0 as the best overall product in a comparison
with Microsoft Corporation's Windows for Workgroups v3.11, Novell, Inc.'s
Personal NetWare v1.0, and several other offerings.

"This recognition from a highly respected publication demonstrates
Artisoft's dedication to development of quality networking solutions,"
said Artisoft Vice President of Software Products Sunil Padiyar. 'We
believe this award is a direct reflection of the tremendous value that the
LANtastic network offers with its connectivity to multiple computing
environments and its integrated communication tools," he added.

Products in the report card were evaluated in a comprehensive test of
categories including setup; network compatibility; speed; workgroup
productivity; administration including user, network and security;
documentation; support including technical support and policies; and
value.

The magazine cited the LANtastic system's "sterling security and nicely
integrated workgroup applications" as key reasons for winning the top spot
in the review. In its value analysis InfoWorld said, "You can't go wrong
with this product." The LANtastic v6.0 software begins at $119 for a
single-user version.

The InfoWorld review also said, "Artisoft has the best collection of
workgroup productivity applications in our comparison." These include
electronic mail, network scheduling, faxing and paging capabilities. The
review also recognized the LANtastic system for providing "the most
comprehensive security features of any product" in the evaluation.

The LANtastic system was further praised for having "one of the best user
interfaces" of those tested, offering both DOS- and Windows-based
management tools for all user administration tasks. The magazine also
described the LANtastic system as "extremely flexible" for its ability to
communicate with multiple operating systems, including networks by Novell,
Inc., Microsoft Corporation and IBM Corporation.
