NEKOTECH SETS NEW MARK FOR RISC PROCESSING POWER

Company Ships MACH 2 'Personal Power Stations' With Clock Speeds of 245MHz
and 289MHz

IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 7, 1994 -- NekoTech, a new computer firm with offices
in Irvine, Calif. and Hampton, NH, Today announced it is shipping Personal
Power Stations with clock speeds of 245MHz and 289MHz, the fastest
processing speeds currently available.

The MACH 2-245 and MACH 2-289 are reduced instruction set computing (RISC)
systems based around Digital Equipment Corporation's 233MHz and 275MHz
Alpha AXP 21064 chips, considered the fastest in the world. Each
incorporates NekoTech's emhanced motherboard design that "supercharges"
the clock speed of the on-board chip.

"These 'Alpha-powered' systems are the most advanced PCs on the market
today," said Bruce Faust, general manager of NekoTech, a division of
Inventory Conversion, Inc. based in Hampton. "They extend our performance
lead in the multimedia, CAD/CAM, simulation and database marketplace."

Prices for the MACH 2-245 range from $7495 to $19,995 while MACH 2-289
prices range from $8495 to $20,995, depending upon configuration. The
systems are available immediately from NekoTech's direct sales teams in
California and New Hampshire.

"Both products are part of an exciting new generation of computers that
combine the features of a personal computer and workstation," Faust said.
"That's why we call them personal power stations of PPS's."

According to Rebel Brown, an analyst with San Francisco-based Cognescenti,
"There are two emerging markets for these systems -- as applications
servers in local area network (LAN) environments, and support for
information superhighway services such as video on-demand and video
teleconferencing."

"Because of the dramatic price/performance advantages of this hardware,
large companies will not only begin foregoing expensive mid-range systems,
but smaller firms will begin running applications they could not afford to
before," Brown said.

The MACH 2-245 and MACH 2-289 are the most recent additions to the
company's MACH series, which includes systems based on the Alpha AXP
166MHz and 200MHz chips. The MACH systems are designed for users of
advanced operating systems such as Windows NT, Windows NT Workstation,
Windows NT Advanced Server, OSF1 and UNIX.

Designed as cost-effective workstations or client/servers in a LAN or wide
area network (WAN) environment, the MACH 2-245 and MACH 2-289 are
NekoTech's premier systems.

Employing the Alpha 275MHz chip from Digital and running at clock speeds of
289MHz, the MACH 2-289 performs at an estimated SPECint92 170 and SPECfp92
240 ratings.

The MACH 2-245, with its Alpha AXP 233MHz chip, operates at clock speeds of
245MHz and performs at SPECint92 125 and SPECfp02 205 ratings.

Each chip sits on a full AT-sized motherboard with 2MB of ISNS write-back
128-bit interleaved ECC cache and 128-bit interleaved memory.
Configuration options range from 32MB to 500MB of system memory and hard
disk storage from 500MB to over 10 gigabyte (GB) capacities.

Standard MACH series features include tower case, I/O interfaces for ISA
and PCI buses with SCSI, ISA and PCI Ethernet embedded on the motherboard;
three 16-bit ISA slots and two 32-bit PCI slots; one parallel port, two
serial ports and an IBM-compatible floppy disk drive; 101-key keyboard and
Microsoft-compatible mouse.

As options, customers can choose between 15-inch, 17-inch or 21-inch Super
VGA non-interlaced monitors. An optional PCI video controller with 2MB of
VRAM is also available.
