Patton & Patton Lowers Price on Popular Flow Charting Software

Morgan Hill CA --September 7, 1994--Patton & Patton Software Corporation
today announced that it is lowering the price on both the Windows and DOS
versions of its popular flowcharting programs effective September 12,1994.
According to the company's director of marketing, Ken Pappas, Flow
Charting 4 for Windows' suggested retail price will drop to $199 from
$315; Flow Charting 3 for DOS will be priced at $149 from $250. Five-user
LAN packs are now $795 (Flow Charting 4) and $595 (Flow Charting 3).

Flow Charting 3 has spent more than 4 years on distributors' bestseller
lists. And so far, sales of Flow Charting 4 for Windows, released this
past spring, have exceeded projections, particularly for upgrades.
"Flowcharting as a management tool has become incredibly popular," says
Pappas. "That's been great news for us, but the down side is that the
market has become over-saturated with new flowcharting programs,
particularly general drawing tools which do some types of flowcharts."

Pappas sees the proliferation of general drawing tools such as Visio as one
of the biggest challenges facing flowcharting software publishers. "We
expect this price move will attract those people who need to do flowcharts
but are tempted to try a more general program," says Pappas. "For people
who do more than one or two flowcharts a year of any complexity, a general
drawing package simply doesn't have the power or ease of use. It's
confusing for the consumer because they are not getting the tool they need
to get the job done."

Patton & Patton will continue offering free unlimited technical support and
BBS service for all registered users. 'We will provide our customers with
the same level of quality service we have always provided," promises
Pappas.

Patton & Patton pioneered the flowcharting category in 1982.
