NEW PRODUCTS TO BE ANNOUNCED AT SD '94 EAST

Products That Address Developer's Toughest Challenges

Washington D.C., September 19, 1994 -- Miller Freeman presents the Software
Developer's Conference and Tradeshow SD '94 EAST October 3-7th in
Washington D.C. The Washington Convention Center will be the site of SD
'94 with 250+ exhibitors, 100+ speakers, and an anticipated 10,000
attendees. Software developers will find a broad spectrum of tool
solutions announced at the show. The offerings to be introduced will help
software developers get their products to market faster, with improved
quality, and within budget.

Key solutions will be demonstrated in the areas of; cross platform
development, visual code development, rapid application development,
localization support, testing tools and more. The following is a partial
listing of the new products and services to be rolled out at the show:

AT&T will unveil two new developer applications: a new POSIX-conforming
UNIX shell from Dave Kom and a Windows version of the Sablime product
administration system.

Basmark will introduce Visual QuickBASIC (VQB), its 32-bit visual program
design environment (compiler), for windows, NT and Unix. VQB generates
programs that are portable cross-platforms and enterprise wide.

Blinkinc's is announcing two new products Blinker 3.0 in German, Spanish,
and Chinese and NOVLIB 2.1 Blinker 3.0, is a royalty-free DOS extender,
Windows linker and DOS dynamic overlay linker that supports multiple
languages.

Blinkinc's will also be introducing NOVLIB 2.1 a powerful NetWare function
library which offers dual mode support. NOVLIB 2.1 is self-sensing and
knows whether the application is running in RT-Link or ExoSpace.

Blue Sky Software will showcase WinMaker Pro 6.0, the new version of
WindowsMAKER Professional, Prototyper and C/C++ Code Generator for
Windows, Win32, & Windows NT. WinMaker Pro 6.0 is as visual and
easy-to-use as Visual Basic but provides the developer with industrial
strength C and C++ code instead of Basic. Multimedia WinHelp, another new
product from Blue Sky, offers a technical Breakthrough in allowing users
to visually and quickly integrate multimedia and other sophisticated
features into any Windows Help systems.

Borland International will be demonstrating its latest development tools
Visual Solutions Pack and the PowerPack for DOS, the tools that supports
the development of fast, powerful DOS applications. Preview Borland's
latest C++ additions, including new OLE support. AND a sneak peek at
Borland's high-performance client/server development tool.

Clarion Software will be announcing Clarion for Windows a powerful, open
system designed to build, deploy and manage applications for Microsoft
Windows. Clarion for Windows, allows for the rapid construction of
applications using template-based application generator. Menus, windows,
and reports can be customized without writing any code.

Coriolis Group publishers of PC TECHNIQUES Magazine introduces the
Adventure Set Series -- a revolutionary new line of book and software sets
that directly involve readers showing them how to create marketable
applications. Look for Visual Basic Multimedia Adventure Set by Scott
Jarol, Action Arcade Adventure Set by Diana Gruber, and the Amazing 3-D
Games Adventure Set by Larry Myers.

Corporate Computing will show RADPath a process management product that
assists project mangers and developers in developing GUI client/server
applications. RADPath also supplies methodology guidance in developing an
infrastructure to support client/server application development from a
global (non-project specific) level.

Eastern System will be announcing Test Designer 3.0 a test case generation
and management tool for the Evaluator automated Software Test System. Test
Designer allows you to record testcases on any GUI application including
Windows, OS/2, Windows NT, XWindows and NextStep. Test Designer 3.0 runs
under Windows 3.1.

EliaShim Microcomputers will introduce CodeSafe-CD a revolutionary method
of distributing software. Using advanced encryption technology, vendors,
distributors and resellers can now "lock" multiple software programs on
CD-ROM. CodeSafe-CD features S.R.U. (Selective Remote Unlocking) which
allows direct sales to customers, demo modes, passwords, immediate
installation, increased revenues, and copy protection.

EMS Professional Shareware will show a CD-ROM set of shareware/free Public
Domain tools for PC programmers using ASM, C, C++, AutoCAD, spreadsheets,
VisualBasic, Pascal, QBasic, Clipper, FoxPro, MS-Access, Paradox, OS/2,
Windows, DOS, Netware, ObjectVision.

Hardy Software Systems is announcing its Windows release of Footprints 2.0,
an interactive trace facility, and will be discussing its upcoming Windows
NT release.

INTERSOLV will demonstrate PVCS for Visual Basic as an add-on to the Visual
Basic environment. It enables team development of VB applications.

MetaWare announces the shipment of High C/C++ version 3.3 for OS/2 with
DirectToSOM support, and version 3.3 for Extended DOS and Windows.
MetaWare offers professional software developers robust compilers on
multiple platforms and architectures.

MIS: Press and M&T Books will be presenting its new showcase of quality
books at booth #709. Al Stevens will be signing copies of his latest book,
"Al Stevens Teaches C" on Wednesday October 5th at 2:30pm. Tony Meadow
will be signing his latest work "Software by Design" on Thursday. October
6th at 2:30pm. The first 40 copies of each book will be given away free!

MicroEdge will be announcing the availability of Visual SlickEdit on OS/2.
Visual SlickEdit is a programmer's editor that won the SD '93 award on
Windows and Windows NT.

Microsoft will be announcing a line of the new developer products.

Mystic River Software will announce the release of Version 3.4 of
Softbridge Basic Language (SBL) for Windows NT. SBL, an embeddable version
of Basic fully supports OLE 2.0 automation, and leads the industry in VBA
compatibility, ease of integration, and power. Redistributable components
include an Editor/Debugger, a Dialog Box Editor, and printed and on-line
Basic documentation.

Premia is releasing Codewright Fusion a version of Premia's Windows editor
that is a drop-in replacement for the Visual C++ editor. With the
introduction of Codewright Fusion, state of the art editing capabilities
are now available in the leading IDE.

SDP Technologies announces the release of its new product S-Designer
Corporate which provides designers data sharing capabilities. With its
central data dictionary built on an SQL database, it gives the power to
work on large applications and design complex systems.

Sequiter Software will be demonstrating how to use CodeBase technology to
visually build xBase compatible applications from C, C++, Basic and
Pascal. Also to be shown is a new dBASE to C++ translation technology
using the new Code Translator.

Softool will be premiering CCC/Harvest, its revolutionary software change
and configuration management (CM) tool specifically designed for
interoperable client/server development environments, including UNIX, PC,
OpenVMS, OpenEdition MVS.

Sterling Software will introduce two new versions of its software quality
management tools. ANSWER: Testpro for Windows, version 2.5, now supports
PowerBuilder, SQL Windows and Visual Basic. Host capabilities have been
expanded to support IBM 3270 and AS/400 character-based applications.
ANSWER: Testpro is widely recognized as enterprise testing automation
software for testing multi-platform client/ser applications.

Summit Software will unveil its new version of BasicScript 2.1 an
embeddable scripting language for windows, Win32, MS-DOS, UNIX, Macintosh,
NetWare, and OS/2. Software developers can easily integrate the
BasicScript language, whose syntax is compatible with Microsoft Visual
Basic for applications, into their own applications. The BasicScript
Toolkit for Windows includes a Macro Editor/Debugger, Dialog Editor, and
Macro Recorder, BasicScript supports OLE 2.0 automation for Windows,
Win32, and Macintosh.

Symantec will be showing new technologies that will boost programming
power. The new product line of leading-edge technology for Windows/DOS
includes breakthrough capabilities, unequaled in performance and
features.

UnderWare will be introducing version 1.5 of Track Record, their innovative
information tracking tool for software developers. Version 1.5 adds
graphic support, access controls and many other improvements.

ViaGrafix will release "Advanced programming in C, Volume 2," a training
video teaching advanced features of C. ViaGrafix provides instructional
videos for learning the most popular software and applications.

ViewSoft will be releasing UTAH 1.1, a C/C++ application development
environment that allows programmers to interactively create sophisticated
GUIs without adding interface dependencies to their program objects or
writing interface code.

XVT announces a new release of C++ cross-platform development solutions and
a new visual programming tool integrated with Rogue Wave Tool.h++ designed
to make portable C++ programming easier.

This year SD '94 boasts over 95 classes in four conferences featuring
industry experts that cover key topics of interest such as: C++, cross
platform development, GUI design, OS/2, object-oriented programming,
client/server, Windows, database development and open systems/distributed
computing.
