XNET PARALLELSWITCH SUPPORTS MICROSOFT WINDOWS NT

MILPITAS, CA., September 19, 1994 -- XNET technology has announced that it
will enhance the Series 1800 ParallelSwitch to support the Microsoft
Windows NT Server platform. The company also plans to support Microsoft's
Systems Management Server (SMS, formerly Hermes) network management
package, when available. The Windows NT driver for the ParallelSwitch,
which currently ships with Novell NetWare, will be available early next
year.

"We are very excited to have XNET's ParallelSwitch support Windows NT,"
said Rich Tong, general manager, business systems division at Microsoft
Corporation. "Our customers are taking advantage of the scalability of NT
as a server platform, and can integrate the ParallelSwitch to add
bandwidth for advanced applications."

Announced earlier this year, the ParallelSwitch is the first Ethernet
switching hub that installs into a file server. Incorporating a high-speed
EISA bus interface into the server, the ParallelSwitch provides up to 60
Megabits per second of network bandwidth through switching and a
high-speed direct bus connection.

"We are dedicated to enhancing our switching product by serving this
additional market of Windows NT users," said Phil Edholm, vice president
of sales and marketing at XNET. "Using the ParallelSwitch with the NT
platform will allow users to create high-performance configurations with
existing file servers and an NT application/database server."

Designed for small- to medium-size networks, the ParallelSwitch is an
alternative solution to standalone switching hubs at one-third the price.
Six Ethernet ports and a high-speed server interface port are integrated
onto a single PC card providing high-speed switching through its six ports
and 60 Mbps through the server bus. XNET's switching hub can be installed
in a network as easily as adding a network interface card into the server,
and does not require any additional internetworking devices.

The unique card design and integrated network management features of the
switching hub enhance server performance by minimizing the source of the
problem. Network management features include support by XNET's SwitchCON,
a Novell NetWare Loadable Module-based (NLM) network management
application, SNMP, Telnet, and out-of-band management.

Both EISA and ISA versions of the ParallelSwitch are available through
authorized XNET resellers and distributors. The Series 1800 ParallelSwitch
lists from $1,988 to $3,288 depending on server bus type and media
connection: EISA or ISA; UTP or BNC. At $284 to $469 per port, users can
obtain a managed switching hub at one-third the price of current Ethernet
switching hubs.

XNET technology develops and markets innovative computer networking
products. XNET's networking solutions, which are integrated with the
server, provide enhanced management, functionality and value for its
customers. Founded in 1992, XNET headquarters is located at 426 S.
