NOVELL INTRODUCES SDK CD-ROM

CD-ROM Provides Streamlined and Cost-Effective Access to
Novell Software Developer's Kits (SDKs)

Software Development '94, San Jose, Calif. -- March 16, 1994 -- To simplify
and streamline access to its network development tools, Novell, Inc. today
introduced the SDK CD-ROM Volume 1. The Novell SDK CD-ROM provides
developers with a bundle of core Novell SDKs, as well as development tips
and easy-to-access online documentation. By moving to CD-ROM delivery,
Novell is eliminating the time and expense of acquiring the toolkits
separately and hastening the development process.

This announcement heightens Novell's March "Application Awareness Month"
message and developer, system integrator and consultant activities at
Software Development '94 and Novell's BrainShare technical conference.

The first release of the Novell SDK CD-ROM includes the NetWare Loadable
Module (NLM) SDK, the NetWare Client SDK, the NetWare SMF v7.1 for MHS
Developer's Kit, the NetWare for SAA Tools SDK, and the Novell Labs Test
Tools. In order to provide CD-ROM access to additional development
products, Novell is committed to updating the SDK CD on a regular basis.

The SDK CD-ROM also includes comprehensive online documentation that speeds
up application development by allowing developers to scan, search, link,
annotate, and print the reference material directly from their development
environment. Other items on the SDK CD include development tips from
Novell Developer Support as well as information and files commonly
downloaded from popular developer forums on CompuServe.

"A major component of Novell's AppWare application development strategy is
to provide easy access to network application development tools,"
commented Doug Donzelli, Vice President of the AppWare Systems Group. "The
SDK CD-ROM is a significant step toward this goal because it allows us to
provide a variety of tools to developers in a quick and cost-effective
manner."

Pricing and Availability

Priced at U.S.$190 per year, the Novell SDK CD-ROM will begin shipping
March 21, 1994. Developers who currently own the diskette/hardcopy manual
version of these SDKs will receive the CD as a final, no-charge update.
BrainShare '94 attendees will receive a promotional copy of the Novell SDK
CD-ROM. To support international development with the SDK CD-ROM,
developers attending BrainShare '94 Europe will also receive a free
one-time promotional copy of the Novell SDK CD-ROM.
