'CrossTarget' Multidimensional Data Analysis Solution Supports Oracle
Workgroup Server

BURLINGTON, MA, March 14, 1994 ..... Dimensional Insight today
announced that CrossTarget, its multidimensional data analysis
and reporting solution, now supports Oracle Corp.'s Oracle
Workgroup Server.

Oracle Workgroup Server is a cost-effective client/server SQL database
solution, designed to handle both decision support and online transaction
processing (OLTP) applications. It combines the power of Oracle's Oracle7
relational database software with Microsoft Windows-based tools.

CrossTarget lets decision makers analyze data with total freedom, to any
level of detail, with no pre-programming of data views or query paths. The
CrossTarget family of client/server tools combines the best features of
executive information systems, decision support systems, and SQL query
tools. One of the CrossTarget tools, the Selector, allows ad-hoc access to
data from relational databases such as Oracle7.

"Previously, SQL databases were viewed as too high-powered -- and too
costly -- for smaller installations of 50 users or less. With CrossTarget
and Oracle Workgroup Server, users now get a plug-and-play solution that
is both easy to use and easy to support," said Frederick A. Powers,
president and CEO of Dimensional Insight.

"The result is the most complete, cost-effective solution available for
packaging and communicating mission-critical information," he added.

The CrossTarget suite of multidimensional client/server tools may be
purchased together or separately for a tailored solution. They include the
following:

o The Builder: The powerful server engine that dynamically compresses,
indexes and stores data into a model that allows fast access and unlimited
dive-down capability, using patented CrossIndexing technology.

o The Diver: The desktop graphical user interface, providing user-friendly
pull-down menus and point-and-click access to data in tabular or graphical
form, including pie charts, scatter plots, bar graphs, and so on.

o The Reporter, which generates user-customizable electronic reports.
Unlike other query and reporting tools, which create static reports, the
Reporter allows point-and-click, dive-down analysis of the underlying
data.

o The Selector allows the end user to pull data from a relational database
and build a data model automatically, for access and analysis with
CrossTarget's graphical user interface. The user may select data in an
ad-hoc fashion, or "productionize" the process to run at various
intervals.

CrossTarget runs in a variety of client/server configurations. The client
can be a PC running Microsoft Windows, Windows NT, or OS/2, or an Apple
Macintosh. Direct connectivity configurations, using CrossTarget's
Selector to access Oracle directly, are currently supported on UNIX and
Windows NT servers. SQL extracts can also be generated on Oracle and
exported to CrossTarget. In these configurations, Oracle can be running in
any environment, and CrossTarget can be running under UNIX, VMS, Windows,
Windows NT, OS/2, DOS or Macintosh operating systems.

CrossTarget pricing averages $1,200 per station, depending on
configuration.
