What's New at Rational

Rational Ships the Next Generation of Rational Rose

The next generation of Rational's object-oriented software-engineering tool
is now available. The new version, Rational Rose 2.0, automates
object-oriented analysis and design and supports development teams in
producing object-oriented applications more effectively. Rational Rose 2.0
supports the Booch '93 notation and features an easy-to-use, intuitive
user interface, syntactic and semantic checking, integration with external
configuration-management systems, and querying, filtering, and browsing
mechanisms. Rational Rose 2.0 can be used with any object-oriented
development language, including C++, Smalltalk, and Ada.

Rational Adds C++ Code Generation to Rational Rose

Rational now offers a version of its object-oriented software-development
tool that generates C++ code. Rational Rose/C++ is a graphical,
object-oriented, software-engineering tool that increases developers'
productivity by supporting the analysis, design, and coding of C++
applications. Rational Rose/C++ combines all of the analysis and design
capabilities of Rational Rose with the company's unique technology for
round-trip engineering. Rational Rose/C++ enables developers to generate,
customize, and maintain C++ code from their design models. In addition to
reducing the amount of code developers must write by hand, Rational
Rose/C++ gives them control over the style of C++ generated.
