                     About VPSabc 1.0 for Windows

VPSabc is a multimedia software tool which uses modern approachs
to teach Vietnamese to young children. In this release are the
first four lessons.

The Vietnamese language, an interesting language regarded by many as complex,
has never been been easier to learn with VPSabc. The course is based on a 
modern approach and utilize multimedia technology.  This technology will put 
you in the driver's seat at all times.

  The user takes control of the learning process by interacting directly
  with the lessons through the use of a mouse.

o User Friendly
  -------------
  No complex computer knowledge needed, no typing required. Just click the
  mouse and concentrate on the lessons.

o Self Paced Lessons
  ------------------
  Lessons may be skipped if so desired. This feature allows fast learner to
  advance at a faster pace. Previous lessons can easily be repeated if
  necessary.

o Fully Illustrated
  -----------------
  Each lesson is accompanied by drawings to illustrate the meaning of each
  word and make learning more fun.

o Audio/Visual Feedback
  ---------------------
  One of the best feature of VPSabc ver 1.0 is that the computer will 
  pronounce, spell each word or read the whole sentence, in which case each 
  word will flash when it's being pronounced.

  Requirements
 **************

 - A PC with a sound card (multimedia PC)
 - VGA color screen or better.
 - Windows 3.1
 - VPSWin 2.1
 - A Mouse


Installation & Running:
-----------------------

1. Create a directory for VPSabc on hard disk.

2. Copy all files in this package to VPSabc's directory on hard disk.

3. Start Windows.
   Run File Manager, go into VPSabc directory.
   Click VPSabc.exe to start.

VPSabc ver 1.0 for Windows and its Macintosh version are developed by
VPS members, North California chapter as part of the ABC project.
The ABC project aims to develop educational software for Vietnamese
children.
