DTK Announces Green PC, color notebook, and 4 local bus products

NEW YORK, New York (June 29, 1993) -- DTK Computer Inc., a leading
manufacturer of personal computers, today announced the addition of six
new systems and motherboards to its product line. These include an Energy
Star-compliant PC, a color notebook, and three new local bus system
products.

DTK Green PC 

A member of the EPA Energy Star Computers Program, DTK is debuting its
"Green" PC at PC Expo. The as-yet-unnamed system features an upgradeable
486 CPU-based system and a VL-bus & ISA-bus design.

The system meets EPA Energy Star specifications calling for the computer to
power down to 30 watts during period when not actively in use. Its power
management features enable the user to cut PC electricity use by more than
60%, and save even more by reducing air conditioning requirements. This
can result in cutting PC and monitor electricity use alone by more than
$100 per year, not including reduced air conditioning costs. Even greater
savings can be realized in areas with higher than average electric rates,
such as the Northeast U.S. and California.

DTK's "Green" PC system will be available in Fall 1993.

DSN-3340C color notebook 

A lightweight 486SX 33MHz slim notebook computer, the DSN-3340C features an
80MB hard drive (120MB or 170MB optional), 4MB of RAM (expandable to
20MB), 10" dual scan color VGA LCD display (640 x 480), and an 84-key
keyboard.

Other features include a 3.5" 1.44MB floppy drive, coprocessor socket, and
ports for external VGA (simultaneous display), floppy drive, and 101-key
keyboard, as well as one parallel and two serial ports.

The system measures 11" wide by 8.5" deep and 1.8" high, comes with an
autosensing AC adapter and rechargeable NiCad or NiMh battery pack, and
weighs 6.3 pounds. It is ISO-9001 and FCC Class B certified and UL
listed.

Options include internal 9600/2400 fax/modem option, extra battery pack,
automobile adapter, quick charger, and external numeric keypad.

The DSN-3340C will be available in the third quarter 1993.

Grafika 4V1

The 33MHz 486-based Grafika 4V1 offers a 2 VL-bus slots, and 5 ISA slots.
Standard configuration for the Grafika 4V1 is 8MB RAM, 256kB external
cache, 240MB hard drive, dual floppy drives, VL-bus video adapter with 1MB
RAM, VL-bus IDE controller and I/O card, 14" noninterlaced color monitor,
keyboard, mouse, Windows 3.1, and MS-DOS 6 operating system. DTK offers
toll-free technical support, one year on-site service, and a one year
parts and labor warranty.

The Grafika 4V1 will sell for an estimated street price of $2,349 and is
available as of today through DTK's nationwide reseller network. It is FCC
certified, UL listed, and certified Novell NetWare tested and approved.

FEAT-03 VL bus BareBone system 

Offered in 25, 33, 50, and 66MHz versions of the 486 CPU, the DTK FEAT-03
comes in a desktop case and is FCC and Novell certified. It features the
PKM-0037S motherboard with 256kB external cache standard, upgrade socket
support for P24T or ZIF, and a 2-slot VL bus design with five ISA bus
slots. Its twin, the FEAT-33, comes in a minitower configuration. Both
will be available in July.

PCI Local Bus System 

DTK introduces its first PCI-bus system, based on Intel's i486 CPU and
Saturn 82420 PCI chipset. The motherboard features 256kB external cache, a
bus design with two PCI slots and five ISA slots, and will accommodate up
to 128MB of on-board memory. Motherboard and system will be available in
93.

DTK Pentium motherboard 

DTK unveils its first Pentium-based motherboard, the PAM-0031I, featuring
Intel Pentium CPU and Mercury 82430 chipset. It offers a selectable
256/512kB external cache. up to 192MB of on-board memory, and a
combination PCI-bus and EISA-bus design for file server use and
applications. The PAM-0031I will be available in 93.
