ProtoView Releases Microsoft Windows Based Spreadsheet Control for Visual
C++ and Visual Basic.

Dayton, NJ -- June 7, 1993 -- ProtoView Development Co. announced today the
release of DataTable Version 2.0. This sophisticated Microsoft
Windows-based spreadsheet control offers advanced data formatting that is
easy to use with the Microsoft Visual C++ development system and the
Microsoft Visual Basic programming system. "The DataTable is a
sophisticated visual spreadsheet control that gives an application the
look and feel of Microsoft Excel spreadsheet", said Dean Guida, president
of ProtoView Development.

According to ProtoView officials, The DataTable is unique in its ability to
interface with any and all databases through generalized message handling.
It can be used within the Microsoft's Visual C++ development system and
Visual Basic environment to create sophisticated data entry and display
screens. The DataTable supports several different memory management
schemes, including multi 64K segment memory management and virtual memory
management. "The Virtual memory manager allows developers to create a
DataTable from a large data set, without having to insert all the rows at
once. Instead, the DataTable will ask for more rows as needed when the
user scrolls down. You can literally fill the DataTable with billions of
rows of data", said Dean Guida.

The DataTable supports over 20 different data types, including Microsoft
SQL Server, Sybase Server and more. The C++ programmer has complete
control of the DataTable through a robust C++ class API and numerous
notification codes. The Visual Basic programmer interacts with the
DataTable through property lists.

Some of The DataTable's new features include:

* Setting Fonts and Colors on a Cell, Column, Row, and Table
  basis.
* Easy and automatic column sorting.
* Lockable columns.
* VBX control support for use with Visual C++ and Visual Basic.
* Virtual managed memory.

Standard features of the DataTable include:

* Horizontal and vertical grid lines.
* Row and column selection.
* Column re-sizing.
* Three dimensional row and column styles.
* Cell formatting.
* Editing within individual cells.
* Column and row titles.
* Hidden columns.
* Interactive setup within any standard Dialog editor,
  Visual Basic, and Visual C++.

Price and availability

The price for The DataTable is $249.95, but it is now available at the
introductory price of just $149.95. Current users can upgrade for just $
79.95. The source code for The DataTable is also available at the price of
$395.00 with an introductory price of only $149.95. The introductory price
