Everex Introduces New STEP Multiprocessor System
First New Product As Part Of New Product/Services Business Plan

Fremont, California -- April 30, 1993 -- Everex Systems, Inc. announced
today the introduction of the STEP MP II, a server product for UNIX and
other high-end networking environments. The system supports up to six
66MHz i486DX2 processors with up to 256MB of RAM with Error Detection and
Correction (EDAC), and utilizes an EISA I/O bus. The STEP MP II combines
advanced multiprocessor technology with open systems standards and is
housed in Everex's award winning cube chassis.

"The STEP MP II fills an essential role for UNIX network managers who must
support larger numbers of concurrent on-line users with high performance
requirements," stated Bob Brose, Everex Advanced Systems Product Marketing
Manager. "We exceeded all of our customers' demands for more performance,
larger memory capacity and faster I/O," Mr. Brose continued. The new STEP
MP II offers nearly twice the processing performance of the STEP MP and
can support up to 160 on-line users.

The STEP MP II will utilize SCO UNIX System V or SCO Open Desktop with SCO
MPX as its operating system. The system is upgradable to Microsoft Windows
NT after that product is released. The company stated it plans to support
other network operating systems in the near future. Suggested list prices
start at $14,999. Optional memory, CPU cards and other peripherals can
also be added. Current STEP MP users also have the option of upgrading
their systems to today's new MP II performance.

"We are currently taking orders for the product and systems have already
shipped this month," commented Rick Garian, Everex Vice President of Sales
and Marketing. The Everex business plan, announced in March, calls for one
week delivery on all orders. "Some of our customers feel that the STEP MP
II can be a cost effective replacement for mid-range processors and, in
some cases, even for mainframe networks," Mr. Garian concluded.

In addition to immediate delivery objectives, Everex's March business plan
focuses on high-end servers and desktop computer system technology. Everex
STEP multiprocessors and desktop systems have earned several industry
awards for performance and continue to enjoy strong customer endorsement
because of their reliability. The STEP MP II will be covered under the
intended NCR Corporation on-site warranty plan, also announced in March.
