Impressions is proud to announce its latest piece of strategy
entertainment, Caesar! Combining the challenge of building a city from the
ground up with the epic history of the Roman Empire, Caesar looks to be
the premiere strategy game of 1993 !

Caesar is a unique game, and it only starts with the concept of the
city-simulation game. The player is a province ruler, low in the ranks of
the Roman Imperials; he (or she) is granted a piece of scrubland and given
the job of building a thriving city there. The player wields complete
power over his land, directing the construction of roads and aqueducts,
and choosing what to build, and where. The whole of Roman culture and
architecture is available to the ambitious city-builder: Forums, baths,
houses, factories, coliseums, military bases and more! One can also
utilize slave labor to see your dreams fulfilled, as well as heed the
advice of a forum full of advisors!

But where other games might be content to stop here, Caesar goes further.
Having designed one community, the player is judged by four criteria. If
deemed worthy, he is promoted, giving him a rise in status, new lands to
administrate and, most importantly, greater and greater challenges! An
expanding political career becomes a great concern, adding weight to one's
decisions as province ruler. Always in mind is the ultimate goal of
obtaining the highest possible rank: Caesar!

The player's cities can be vulnerable to attack from barbarian hordes, and
the player must work to protect his people! He must build defensive walls
around the cities, and install and deploy Roman militia in the surrounding
countryside. Plus, with the optional addition of Impressions' Cohort 2
battles between Roman legion and Barbarian horde are acted out fully, with
each soldier under the player's direct control! This sophisticated yet
easy-to-use battlegame uses a new, improved version of the popular system
used in Impressions' previous releases, the original Cohort, Rorke's
Drift, and Conquest of Japan.

Caesar is expected to retail at $59.95 for both IBM and Amiga machines, and
has a scheduled release date of early January, 1993. So join Impressions
around New Years for the most epic of all strategy games, Caesar!!
