I-MOTION, Inc. Debuts ALONE IN THE DARK, a Revolutionary Virtual Adventure
PC Game at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show

Las Vegas, NV -- January 7, 1993 -- I-MOTION, a newly formed US
entertainment software publisher, announced today the release of ALONE IN
THE DARK, a 3D real-time adventure game, styled in the thrilling suspense
genre of the well-known 1920s mystery writer, H. P. Lovecraft. ALONE IN
THE DARK was developed by the team that programmed the hit entertainment
software titles, Drakkhen, Captain Blood and Hostage.

ALONE IN THE DARK features advanced camera point-of-view technology. Each
screen in ALONE IN THE DARK has up to 9 camera positions. Following the
player's movement, the computer calculates and presents the best camera
shot. The game also features 3D real-time animation in VGA graphics mode,
suspense-building music and sound effects, and a special save function
that displays a visual image of the scene where the game was saved.

With its European release in November of 1992, ALONE IN THE DARK has
already become a mega hit and is winning accolades from the European
press. PC REVIEW, a leading computer entertainment publication described
ALONE IN THE DARK, "Good technology ... superb game design ... the best 3D
adventure we've ever seen." A best-selling entertainment magazine,
SATELLITE expressed, "This is the first full-screen 3D arcade adventure.
Professional use of 256 color VGA graphic shading and accurate
synchronized sound samples make the perfect interface for the eerie
atmosphere behind the plot."

I-MOTION's president, Bruno Bonnell said, "The combination of the latest
technology in game programming and a story based on the work of the world
famous mystery writer H. P. Lovecraft has resulted in one of the hottest
products ever made available to the PC game community. Our release of the
title in Europe was a resounding success and we expect similar success in
the North America." ALONE IN THE DARK will be distributed through
Interplay Productions, Inc. Brian Fargo, Interplay's president, said,
"Hundreds of developers approach us each year to evaluate products for
distribution. When we saw ALONE IN THE DARK, we were so impressed what we
actually wished we had developed it ourselves."

With ALONE IN THE DARK, the player can choose to be a private detective or
the niece of a man who has committed suicide in a mysterious house. The
player's objective is to confront the force that dwells within the house
while unraveling the riddle of the man's death.

ALONE IN THE DARK will be available February 1st, 1993 for MS-DOS personal
computers at a suggested retail price of $59.95. Los Angeles based
I-MOTION, Inc. plans to release three more exciting titles in 1993.
