SHERLOCK 1.1 RELEASED BY PHYSIOTRONICS CORPORATION SOLVES THE MYSTERY OF
FINDING WINDOWS FILES

January 15, 1993 -- (New York, NY) -- Physiotronics Corporation, USA today
released its software product, SHERLOCK for IBM PCs running Microsoft
Windows v3.1. The software provides an easily affordable, intuitive and
visual filing and retrieval system for both individuals and network
users.

SHERLOCK provides the missing link that cures a key weakness of Microsoft
Windows: it's dependency on DOS's 8 character file naming system, with the
resulting difficulties in retrieving files due to seldom remembering what
is in a file without opening it. SHERLOCK breaks new ground by providing:

* Extension's to the Windows filing environment that replace
the Windows Save/Open dialog boxes and the 8 character file
names with a Profile Card and 254 character file descriptions.
* Instant retrieval of saved files using a "best-fit" lookup
  including string/word/sentence search.
* A Visual Filing Environment that provides familiar metaphors
  for drives, sub-directories.
* 8 optional fields that categorize files by: Document Type,
  Contact, Keywords and more.
* User-modifiable Synonym Database for Keywords (Ex: typing
  "automobile" would find "car").
* Total and seamless integration for most popular Windows
  applications.
* Fast Auto Import providing access to files created prior
  to installation of SHERLOCK.
* Automatic launching of the correct application and the
  selected document.
* Cross Launching of applications (Ex: launch a Corel Draw
  file while working in MS-Word).
* Novell Netware compatibility with user-assignable network
  rights for files/folders.

"We believe that "SHERLOCK's document management capability will become an
industry standard, " said Leon Cohen-Levy, president of Physiotronics.
"The DOS limitation of eight characters for file and directory names is a
frustrating one. With SHERLOCK, you have up to 254 characters to describe
a file and you can completely forget about DOS file names, directories and
sub directory names, and you can concentrate on working on your
application more productively and efficiently. "

"A Windows user can immediately benefit from this approach because SHERLOCK
provides a simple and intuitive user interface, " continued Cohen-Levy.
"The icons are all familiar office objects file folders, drawers and file
cabinets, - allowing users to define their own filing systems just as they
now do with paper. For example, all work related to a particular project
such as word processing, spreadsheets and graphics, can be stored together
in a single folder. "

Leon Cohen-Levy stressed that SHERLOCK is priced competitively at the
suggested retail price of $249.99 for single users and $695 for a
five-station LAN-Pack. "In researching the market, we found that it was
common to invest up $1000 per LAN station to achieve similar filing, and
retrieval capabilities plus server software and in some cases the OS/2
operating system and a full-time file clerk or librarian. Windows users
will find SHERLOCK to be a much better solution than the existing
products, with capabilities that exceed all the others that are now on the
market. "

An important capability is that SHERLOCK works from within Windows
application programs, without changing the way they operate. "You never
have to leave your application programs in order to utilize the advanced
document management capabilities of SHERLOCK, " explained Sergio D.
Caplan, Director of Development for Physiotronics. "SHERLOCK works by
simply substituting its own save and retrieve dialog boxes for the DOS
file name dialog boxes that the application would normally use. The
SHERLOCK file management capabilities are available directly from the
application's pull-down menus and keyboard accelerators. without the user
having to run a separate application. "

With SHERLOCK, finding a document is as simple as clicking a button. By
entering any pieces of information about a document. or by specifying a
storage location, a user can modify the scope of the search. SHERLOCK
automatically finds and lists all the documents that match the desired
criteria. SHERLOCK provides a flexible structure that the user can change
at any time. A user can be as organized or as unstructured as they choose.
All work can be placed in a single folder, or the user can establish a
structure that more closely resembles their business or professional work
environment. For example, lawyers can establish case files, while
accountants can set-up individual folders for each client.

SHERLOCK provides an easy way for LAN users to share work while working
within the existing network security. Users have direct control over who
can access their work and can grant or rescind privileges (such as Read,
Write and Erase), without assistance from the network administrator.
SHERLOCK recognizes all servers and drives that are available to a user,
regardless of mapping, and maintains a local catalog of all locally stored
documents, which are synchronized with the network document catalog. This
means that a user will still have access to their local files even if the
network is temporarily down or unavailable. Under Novell Netware 3.x, a
user can control access to all storage levels, while under NetWare 2.x the
user can control access at the cabinet, drawer and folder levels. Novell
NetWare users also have access to the Grant Access capabilities.

SHERLOCK documents are stored side-by-side with DOS files. Users can move
DOS files created prior to the installation of SHERLOCK into the SHERLOCK
environment using Fast Auto Import. When needed, DOS files can be moved
into and out of the SHERLOCK environment by using the Override command.
Utilities are also provided for finding and inspecting SHERLOCK-stored
files while working at the DOS prompt.

SHERLOCK is available for immediate shipment at the suggested retail price
of $249.99 for single users and $695 for a five-station LAN-Pack.

SHERLOCK runs under Windows 3.1 and can be installed on Novell Netware
networks. The product runs on any Windows-compatible PC with an 80386
processor or better, with at least 2M bytes of RAM, and approximately 2M
bytes of free hard-disk space. For network users, Physiotronics recommends
a minimum configuration of a 386/20 and 4M of RAM. A 30-day money back
guarantee is provided.

SHERLOCK is compatible with Adobe Illustrator; Aldus Freehand, PageMaker,
Persuasion and PhotoStyler; SPC Harvard Graphics, Corel Draw, Photo, Chart
and Presents; Lotus 1-2-3, Ami Pro and Freelance; Microsoft Word, Excel,
Publisher, Notepad, Write and Paintbrush; NBI Legacy; Ventura Publisher;
Wordstar for Windows and WordPerfect for Windows. Additional SHERLOCK
compatibility modules will be available through the CompuServe Information
Network and directly from Physiotronics at no additional charge.
