SPA Announces Micrografx Recipient of 1993 Community Service Citation

Four Companies Receive Honorable Mentions: EduQuest, Pioneer
Communications, Microsoft and General Media Publishing

March 5,1993 (San Diego, CA) - The Software Publishers Association (SPA)
announced today that the first annual SPA Community Service Citation has
been awarded to Micrografx, Inc., for their efforts on behalf of missing
and exploited children.

The goal of the Micrografx program is to promote the application of
advanced technology in the investigative process for recovering missing
children. To support this, Micrografx has united the software industry and
sponsored a major fund-raising event, the Micrografx Chili Cook-Off, held
at Comdex every year. Proceeds from this effort are used to assist the
National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in developing a
National Missing Children's Technology Network, which ultimately will be
an international resource network to protect children. Over the three
years Micrografx has organized the fundraiser, it has raised well over $1
million in cash, service, and product contributions to NCMEC, making it
the single largest contributor to the center.

Katherine Borsecnik, SPA vice president, said, "Microfrafx's work
represents the very best in community service by the software industry.
Not only have they been an effective and articulate advocate for missing
and exploited children, but they have united the industry in an effort to
apply technology to one of our country's most difficult and
heart-wrenching problems."

"Children are our most precious resource," said Paul Grayson, chairman and
chief executive officer of Micrografx. "The effort of Micrografx's
associates worldwide have made the program successful, and we look forward
to making an even stronger contribution to the center at this year's
Micrografx Chili Cook-Off."

The SPA Community Service Citation recognizes software companies'
outstanding contributions to community outreach around the country. In its
first year, there were sixteen nominees. Four Honorable Mentions were also
presented. They include:

* EduQuest--Hurricane Andrew Relief Project
* General Media--Support of Community School District #5
* Microsoft Corporation--Microsoft Giving Program
* Pioneer Communications of America--AIDS Education Project

The Community Service Citation was presented in conjunction with the SPA's
Excellence in Software Awards in San Diego on March 4,1993, at the SPA's
Annual Spring Symposium.
