ECOMAP
A Global View of Major Terrestrial Ecosystems and Man's Impact

ECOMAP is an interactive display program using a database of all the major
land-based ecosystems, digitized onto a 0.5 by 0.5 degree global grid.
Using ECOMAP, you can view any of 14 major ecosystems, or various groups
of ecosystems. Examine the entire planet, or a single continent. Unlike
most maps, the ECOMAP displays show no political boundaries, or cities.
The emphasis is on the Earth and its biological communities, not on human
civilization.

The ECOMAP program contains a series of 9 Illustrated Lessons on Climate,
Terrain, and Human Impacts on Ecosystems. Topics include wilderness
ecosystems, agriculture, population, deforestation, acid rain, and more.
Useful questions are included at the end of each lesson section. These
questions are helpful for independent study of the ECOMAPs, and for
discussion purposes.

Also included is a handy GLOSSARY of Our Global Environment. Here are
definitions of nearly 300 terms, from cloud albedo to zooplankton, from
permafrost to Pleistocene.

PC and Macintosh versions available, list price is $19.95
