Sibex, Inc. announces the release of a new product in its line of PC
computer accessories.

The "Computer Sentry" is an electronic unit which monitors the "health" of
a PC computer. It provides an alarm if it detects conditions which could
result in operating problems or equipment failures.

The major causes of component failure are high temperatures, and improper
operating voltage. High temperatures can result from a failed fan or dirty
air inlet, or restricted airflow due to the location of the computer, etc.
Spikes and surges, brownouts, defective power supplies, etc. can cause
changes in the computers operating voltage. These conditions can occur at
any time, and without the "Computer Sentry", you have no way of knowing
they exist, until a problem occurs.

The unit is easily installed by any computer user. It does not require
opening the computer case. It is compatible with most PC type computers.

* Protect your expensive PC computer from the biggest causes of
  electronic failure.
* Detect the onset of problems before they occur. Prevent
  unnecessary equipment down time.
* Easily installed. No electronic skill required. It does not
  require opening the computer case.

Modern electronic devices like your PC computer are sophisticated, high
reliable, and will normally operate for years. The two biggest causes of
electronic component failure are high operating voltage and high operating
temperature.

The "Computer Sentry" is a solid state electronic module which monitors
these important parameters within your PC computer and alarms if it
detects an abnormal condition.

The "Computer Sentry" attaches to the outside of your computer case in less
than five minutes. It monitors the 5 volt source which powers the computer
electronics, and the temperature inside the computer case. If it detects a
high or low operating voltage, or a high temperature inside the case, an
alarm will sound alerting you of a pending problem. One of three LEDs on
the unit case will then light indicating which condition was detected.

A high voltage condition detected by the "Computer Sentry" can mean
imminent component failure, and should be corrected immediately. A low
operating voltage can lead to, or cause erratic computer operation, loss
of memory, etc. High or low voltages can result from a variety of causes,
such as incorrect AC voltage, power line transients, a defective computer
power supply, defective parts in the computer, etc.

High operating temperatures can also cause erratic operation and lead to a
shorter computer life if allowed to persist. High temperatures can result
from a number of causes such as a defective cooling fan, a dirty cooling
air filter, restricted airflow due to placing the computer in a corner,
etc.

The "Computer Sentry" is easy to install and does not require opening the
computer case. You do not have to be a computer technician. or
knowledgeable of the inner working of a PC to install it. The "Computer
Sentry" attaches to the side of your computer case and is wired in line
with the keyboard cable. A small wire with the temperature monitor
attached is inserted into any opening in the back of the computer
completing the job. When the "Computer Sentry" senses an abnormal
condition, a buzzer will sound for about 1 sec. to alert you that it has
detected a problem. The red or yellow LEDs on the case will light,
indicating an abnormal voltage or temperature condition. Once triggered,
the LED will stay on until the computer is turned off. The "Computer
Sentry" performs a self test every time your computer is turned off. A
short beep and quick flash of the LEDs tells you that the unit is working
and faithfully monitoring your system.

Units are presently available from stock priced at $49.95 each, and include
easy to follow installation instructions.
