GROUP TECHNOLOGIES INTRODUCES FIRST TRUE MIL SPEC RUGGED HANDHELD COMPUTER
UNDER $2000

New DOS compatible Badger Line Of Outdoor Computers Designed for Broad
Applications in Commercial Markets

Tampa, FL -- June 14, 1993 -- Group Technologies Corp. is introducing the
Badger GT-110, the first handheld computer under $2000 to meet military
specification standards for ruggedness. The compact Badger is designed for
mobile data collection, distribution, processing and communications.

The highly-reliable, DOS-compatible GT-l 10 is the first in a line of
Badger handheld and laptop computers priced at substantially less than
comparable ruggedized units currently marketed to the military or
industrial market. The lightweight unit has the functionality of a
full-sized PC, featuring task and memory expandability to suit the widest
range of applications. The Badger GT-110 will be marketed through
value-added resellers specializing in outdoor applications, who will
customize Badger with software designed for particular applications.

The Badger GT-l 10 marks Group Technologies' entry into the broad-based PC
market, part of its strategy of diversifying its defense technology into
commercial products. The Badger product family is designed to meet the
needs of a broad group of potential outdoor PC users, providing
ruggedness, low cost, compact size and light weight.

Target markets include agriculture and forestry; chemical, petroleum, gas
and mining; defense; industrial and manufacturing; law enforcement;
marine; surveying and construction; transportation and shipping; utility
companies; and wholesale/retail distribution.

"The outdoors is an explosive new market, ready for the right rugged
computer," said Carl McCormick, president and chief executive officer of
Group Technologies. "Just like its namesake, our Badger computer is one
tough, outdoor computer that will perform anywhere, under any conditions,"
said McCormick.

FEATURES

The handheld (6.3-inch by 4.4-inch by 2.0-inch) lightweight (28 oz. with
battery) Badger GT-110 provides near real-time access to data in any
environment, including those Previously considered too severe for mobile
computers. This new outdoor computing product category includes any
outdoor applications. The unit meets Mil-Spec standards for resistance to
extreme temperatures, rain, humidity, fungus, salt fog, blowing sand,
chemicals, vibration, shock, explosive atmospheres and electromagnetic
fields.

The Badger GT-110 is DOS-compatible, with technology features including a
ROM version of DR DOS 5.0 running on a 7MHz 8680 Chips and Technology CPU,
a 10-line by 26-character supertwist LCD display, RS-232 input/output
interface capability and 48-key alphanumeric keypad. The removable keypad
can also be customized for user-designed application functions.

Memory includes one megabyte (MB) of PSRAM and 512 kilobytes (KB) of EPROM,
along with flexible memory programming and protection against data loss in
low power situations. Additional read/write memory storage is available
using optional PCMCIA memory cards in storage increments from 64KB up to
8MB.

The Badger GT-110 offers a wide range of user software storage options
including database storage, application program storage and set-up file
storage. Customer application software can be developed using any
DOS-compatible microcomputer and downloaded directly into the Badger
GT-110. Data files may be exchanged between I/O compatible devices, which
allows users to extend PC applications into a rugged field environment.

For greater versatility, unit power is provided by either standard 9 volt
alkaline or lithium battery, three 2/3A lithium batteries and/or an
optional rechargeable NICAD battery pack.

The Badger GT-110's ruggedness and high reliability are due to Group
Technologies' extensive use of advanced surface mount technology in the
manufacturing process and hermetic packaging developed for harsh military
conditions.

The suggested retail price of the Badger GT-110 is $1995.00, with volume
pricing available.
