NEC INTRODUCES THE SVGA MONITOR
...14 inch low cost Super VGA color monitor...

Wood Dale, Ill., June 7, 199 -- NEC Technologies, Inc., today introduces
the NEC SVGA color monitor as its low-cost solution to Super VGA color
computing. With the addition of the SVGA monitor, NEC expands its monitor
offerings to include the low-cost, 14-inch, entry-level monitor market.

NEC hopes to capitalize on the high-volume 14-inch monitor market and
continue the success it enjoyed with the MultiSync 2A--the SVGA's
predecessor. According to various Silicon Valley market research
companies, worldwide shipments of 14-inch monitors will be more than 16
million units in 1993 and even higher in 1994.

NEC's SVGA monitor's low estimated selling price of $415 and capability of
displaying high resolutions (1024 x 768 at 60 Hz) make the monitor ideal
for entry-level business applications, corporate network installations,
home office and first time purchasers.

"Our SVGA monitor effectively addresses users who are looking for a
low-cost color monitor for their desktop computer," said Jim Schwabe, vice
president of NEC's Graphics Marketing Group. "NEC is adapting its strategy
to include a broader range of markets and encourage SVGA buyers to
eventually upgrade to one of its Premier MultiSync FG and FGe monitors."

"NEC now offers a display solution for entry level, mainstream,
professional and presentation markets with its SVGA monitor, MultiSync FGe
monitors, MultiSync FG monitors and MultiSync PG projection systems and
large-screen data monitor, respectively," he said.

The VESA-compliant SVGA monitor features non-interlaced resolutions of 640
x 480, 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768 to allow for user flexibility. The SVGA
monitor is ergonomically designed with a modern cabinet, a removeable tilt
swivel base, small foot print and easy-to-use, up-front controls. The SGVA
also has NEC's Reduced Magnetic Field Technology for low ELF/VLF
emissions.

Offering mainstream flexibility, the SVGA monitor is compatible with VGA,
Super VGA and XGA resolutions. The monitor has horizontal frequencies of
31.5, 35.2, 35.5, 37.9 and 48 KHz, a vertical refresh of 50 to 90 Hz, and
a video bandwidth of 65 MHz.

The SVGA is currently available through NEC's nationwide distribution of
authorized resellers and has a one-year limited warranty. For additional
information via fax call NEC FastFacts at 1-800-366-0476 and request
