Asymetrix's Compel Shines in Software Digest Report

Receives a "Recommended Buy" in Presentation Graphics Programs Evaluation;
1.0a Upgrade and PC Manufacturer Agreement Announced

BELLEVUE, Wash.--July 28, 1993--Compel, the interactive business
presentation package that Asymetrix Corporation introduced in March 1993,
received a "Recommended Buy" in a recent Software Digest comparison of
presentation graphics programs for the Windows operating system. In
particular, the report praises the product's strong multimedia support,
extensive screen show features and excellent templates. Asymetrix has sold
more than 15,000 copies of Compel since its introduction.

In the words of the Software Digest report, "[Compel] will appeal to users
with a strong interest in on-screen presentations, easy portability and
multimedia effects." The report added, "Even when not using the program's
multimedia technology, extensive transition effects and high-quality
templates help make striking on-screen presentations." (Volume 10, Number
6, June 1993).

"Compel was rated especially strong in the areas of quality, ease of
learning and ease of use," said Bert Kolde, president of Asymetrix. "Our
goal was to offer customers a product that lets them easily create
interactive business presentations with multimedia data, including video,
animation and sound. The Software Digest results prove that we achieved
that goal, and with a product that has only been on the market for a short
three months."

Presenters as varied as an oil company consultant and an educator working
with deaf students have adopted Compel during its first three months on
the market. Those customers praise Compel for its ease of use, multimedia
capabilities and abundance of templates. Compel retails for $295.

Software Digest is published by NSTL (National Software Testing
Laboratories), Inc., a McGraw-Hill company. NSTL, an independent
organization, is the sole provider of comprehensive testing services for
Software Digest and offers a full range of software and hardware testing
services to private clients on an independent, contract basis.
