NEW VERSION OF FAST! ADVANTAGE AUTOMATED WORKPAPER SOFTWARE FEATURES
STATEMENT OF CASH FLOWS

ATLANTA, June 28 -- Prentice Hall Professional Software today announced the
release of FAST! Advantage version 2.01, adding the statement of cash
flows (SOCF) and other enhancements to the company's trial balance
workpaper software for compilation, review, and audit work.

According to Product Manager Suzanne Phillips, CPA, the new version
represents valuable additions to the product. "Version 2.01 improves the
functionality of FAST! Advantage by allowing users to easily produce the
direct and indirect SOCF," she says. "It also provides detail workpapers
that allow accountants to analyze and document the specific activity in an
account."

SOCF Easy to Produce

Accountants can produce the direct and indirect SOCF simply by creating
cash flow worksheets, one for the indirect method and, if necessary, one
for the direct method. The worksheets automatically calculate the
difference between the prior and current-year balances and help users
quickly analyze various changes during the year.

Additional Detail Workpapers Let Users Review and Analyze Account Balances

FAST! Advantage 2.01 adds detail workpapers to the trial balance and lead
schedule workpapers already in the system. The system provides three types
of detail workpapers: "Roll forward" for analyzing the change between the
current year beginning and ending account balances; "Analysis" for
analyzing an account's ending balance; and "User-designed" for creating
any list of balances to be totaled.

Notes and Enhanced Text Editing

Version 2.01 also allows users to create financial statement notes that
take advantage of the enhanced text editing capabilities of the FAST!
Advantage financial statement module.

Tables of financial information can be created by inserting column headings
into the body of the Notes statement followed by detail lines that present
balances based on account or other data.

Enhanced Divisional Processing

This release adds several enhancements for working with divisions.
Accountants can now copy divisions, copy a divisional master chart, change
a client from non-divisional to divisional processing, and print more
divisional reports.

New Chart of Accounts Features The FAST! Advantage chart of accounts now
includes the ability to assign ranges of accounts to lead schedules and
tax lines, so accountants can assign accounts in groups rather than one at
a time. Users can also renumber the chart of accounts. The system also now
includes an option to enter account balances when setting up an account,
allowing users to enter the basic account information and balances for the
current and prior years all on the same screen.

Export Reports to Spreadsheets

FAST! Advantage version 2.01 lets users send any report to a spreadsheet
file (WK1 format) to use with spreadsheet programs such as Lotus 1-2-3.
This lets accountants use their spreadsheet software to prepare
specialized calculations and create graphs and charts.

System Requirements

FAST! Advantage is designed specifically for LAN environments but will
operate on a single IBM PC or compatible under DOS 3.1 or higher. The
software requires 640K of RAM with 510K free, and takes advantage of
expanded and extended memory. It can be used with a monochrome, EGA color,
or VGA color monitor. FAST! Advantage is priced at $395.

FAST! Advantage version 2.01 is the latest version of Prentice Hall's
completely redesigned trial balance workpaper package. It includes input
from many of the some 50,000 accountants across the country who were users
of the first workpaper software package for the CPA market, Prentice
Hall's FAST!.
