20/20 Announces WestLake Imager 2.0 for Borland's Paradox and dBASE

San Diego, CA -- May 16, 1993 -- 20/20 Software, Inc. today announced first
shipment of version 2.0 of the WestLake Imager for Paradox and dBASE and
the release of 5 and 25-user network versions. The WestLake Imager enables
users of Borland's Paradox and dBASE database software to add pictures to
their database. Version 2.0 of the WestLake Imager adds multi-level zoom
and pan capabilities, supports display of 256 colors in both zoomed and
unzoomed mode, utilizes extended and expanded memory to allow display and
printing of very large graphics, enhances and automates printer control,
and adds support for compressed TIFF graphic file formats.

Users simply add a field containing the file name of an associated PCX,
TIFF, CGM or PIC file to each record in their database. The WestLake
Imager then enables the database to display and print the record with the
associated picture. Pictures can be scaled to any size and positioned as
specified by the user. Text and graphics are displayed together on the
screen. Both dot matrix printers and laser printers are supported.

Paradox 4.0 sets new standards for DOS-based relational database management
systems. With a windows-like user interface, tremendous power and
performance gains, enhanced network performance and expanded Paradox
Application Language, PAL, Paradox is ideal for a wide range of users. It
includes the industry-standard Query By Example (QBE) for fast interactive
database querying. Paradox can also store and retrieve Binary Large
Objects (BLObs) in memo fields. BLObs can contain any type of binary data
including graphics, sound and multimedia files.

"The WestLake Imager adds functionality to Paradox's support for BLObs that
contain graphics," said Daniel Klaussen, Paradox DOS product manager for
Borland International. "It is a great tool for Paradox users -- and dBASE
users -- building graphics-intensive applications."
