PARADOX 4.0 ACCESS TO MAINFRAME DATA
Terrabyte Database Warehouse Announced at Borland Conference

NEW YORK, NY -- May 16, 1993 -- The Irons Group, Inc. today announced that
it plans to introduce enhanced versions of its Query 3480 and Query
9-Track products for accessing mainframe data from Borland
International's, Paradox 4.0 relational database management system. These
products enable Paradox users and developers to have seamless access to
mainframe and minicomputer data files stored on magnetic tape and
cartridge. Both products utilize the industry standard Query By Example
(QBE) features available in Paradox 4.0. The enhanced Paradox 4.0 products
will be released during May, 1993. Paradox for Windows versions are also
planned for release later in 1993.

"We are working closely with Storage Technology to deliver unique tools
connecting Paradox users to their corporate data quickly and easily," said
James Davidson, president of The Irons Group. "Our customers can perform
multi-table queries matching their Paradox databases against mainframe
files of virtually any size using standard Paradox queries. This has
opened up a whole new range of applications that were previously thought
to be impossible or impractical on PCs. The data warehouse we plan to
deliver later in 1993 will enable automated access to hundreds of 3480
cartridges storing over two hundred gigabytes of data in its base
configuration, with a capacity to expand to over a terrabyte as needed."

"With the continued move toward downsizing and distributed data
applications, our tools for the rapid population of PC databases and
database servers become ever more important," said Davidson. "We have
customers working with Paradox 4.0 in network and client server
environments accessing files that are hundreds of megabytes or even tens
of gigabytes in size. Using standard Paradox query tools they are able to
populate their tables with exactly the data they need."

With over 90% of the world's data on mainframe and minicomputer systems, it
is critical for users to have access to corporate data from host systems.
Query 3480 and Query 9-Track are now in use at companies such as AT&T,
Arthur Anderson, Baxter Healthcare, Dun & Bradstreet, Honeywell, Kidder
Peabody & Co., Metropolitan Life, NationsBank, Prudential, Security
Pacific and Transamerica.

The Irons Group, Inc. develops and markets, worldwide, database
connectivity products that enable microcomputer database users to bridge
the gap to mainframe and minicomputer data without the time and expense of
outsourcing and programming. Downsizing and database migration services
are also offered. Corporate headquarters is in New York, NY.
