STB INTRODUCES NTSC/PAL MULTIMEDIA BOARD

The Channel One displays vivid computer graphics on composite NTSC/PAL
television sets and VGA monitors

September 17, 1993 -- Richardson, Texas - STB Systems, Inc. has announced
the release of the Channel One, a composite NTSC/PAL multimedia video
card. The Channel One is an add-in video card that allows users to display
or output computer generated data and graphical images to any device that
supports VGA, SVHS and composite NTSC/PAL video signals, including a
standard television set or VCR.

The Channel One is based on the Cirrus Logic 5426 video controller chip and
comes with up to 1 meg of 60 ns DRAM video memory. The CL 5426 will supply
up 16.7 million colors at a resolution of 640x480 and 16 colors at a
resolution of 1280x1024. To add to the VGA video capabilities, a Sony
CXA1145 RGB encoder enables this board to convert VGA signals to NTSC/PAL
video formats. To provide support for a wide range of peripheral devices,
the Channel One comes standard with a 15-pin connector for VGA, F
connector, S-VHS and a VESA compatible feature connector.

The Channel One is designed to provide corporate, finance, transportation
and education industries with the ability to display computer generated
data and graphical images on regular NTSC/PAL television sets. The data
can be delivered for immediate presentation on a television set, or output
straight to a VCR to record high quality video tapes. Using a multiple
frequency VGA monitor, the Channel One can display the same video signal
on the VGA monitor and a NTSC television set, simultaneously. Multiple
Channel One's in a system provide multiple screen operations in VGA or
NTSC environments.

The Channel One adapters come with an easy-to-use installation utility,
Cirrus Logic VGA drivers for popular software packages and a STB NTSC/PAL
driver for Windows 3.1. A line-averaging utility supplies flicker free
operations for static images being displayed in NTSC or PAL modes.

The Channel One will be available in limited quantities in September and is
scheduled to begin full production runs in October 1993. The suggested
retail price is $459.

In the past, users who wanted to display great computer graphics on a
television set had to invest in a high-end graphics/character generator
that cost thousands of dollars. Today the synergy of personal computers
and the evolution of the television industry has allowed STB to design a
better and more cost effective solution for producing vivid graphics for
composite NTSC/PAL formats.

"STB has designed the Channel One to deliver outstanding computer graphic
capabilities for professional and novice PC users who desire the option to
output their work to composite NTSC/PAL monitors," said Greg Martin,
Product Manager. "The quality of the graphics that the Channel One
produces equals or surpasses the quality of systems that only production
houses could afford two years ago. The introduction of the Channel One
places professional quality computer graphics within the reach of the
average computer user at a fraction of the cost associated with expensive
television studio graphics/character generators."

Established in 1981, STB Systems, Inc. is the third largest manufacturer of
video adapter products. STB manufactures an entire line of video adapters
ranging from standard VGA, Super VGA and graphics accelerators to multiple
video port (MVP) video adapters. STB products are available at major
