CoSA After Effects 2.0 to Ship by Year End
Upgrade Previews at Seybold, SMPTE & VISCOMM
Acceleration, Interface & I/O Provisions Dramatically Improved

(Providence, RI, October 20, 1993) -- CoSA (The Company of Science & Art),
an Aldus subsidiary, announced today that it will release CoSA After
Effects 2.0 by year-end. CoSA will be demonstrating After Effects 2.0 this
fall at Seybold San Francisco 93, SMPTE Technical Conference and Equipment
Exhibit, and VISCOMM '93.

The most significant differences that users will see in After Effects 2.0
will involve preview and rendering speed, interface, and enhanced support
for input/output formats. CoSA After Effects 2.0 represents a major
upgrade to CoSA's digital compositing, motion graphics, and special
effects application for the Macintosh.

The improvements in CoSA After Effects 2.0 include:

Acceleration

* CoSA has increased preview and rendering speeds through
  optimizations within the application.
* Further acceleration will be available through the After
Effects plug-in modules, which take advantage of various
  hardware acceleration technologies.

Interface

* Users can edit motion paths which are now shown in the
  Composition window.
* A zoomable and scrollable Time Layout window provides a
comprehensive view that displays and allows editing of:
    * The time bar for each layer
    * The location and type of key frames for parameters
      of each layer
    * Graphs of key frame values and velocities
    * Enhanced motion control and effect animation

File Format Support

* CoSA After Effects 2.0 supports more input/output file
formats, including input of numbered PICT files.
* CoSA After Effects 2.0 supports Photoshop 2.0 Image/File
  format modules.
* CoSA After Effects 2.0 drives selected Photoshop filters
  over time.

Enhanced Key Frame Control

* Multiple interpolation capabilities are provided for
  each parameter.
* Users can move, cut, and paste key frames.
* Key frame velocity can be modified within designated
  interpolation methods.

"CoSA After Effects 2.0 is a brand new product in many ways," says CoSA
President Bill O'Farrell. "The acceleration provisions alone are quite
substantial, and will make an immeasurable difference to our users, not to
mention to those people whose time resources have not yet allowed them to
take advantage of the application as an on-line post-production tool."

CoSA After Effects enables users to composite and animate an unlimited
number of QuickTime movies and PICT files and enhance them with special
effects. CoSA After Effects' unique key frame based interface and powerful
compositing capabilities make it a preferred application for creating
superior quality motion graphics for film and video post-production.

CoSA After Effects 2.0 will retail for $1,995.00. Registered After Effects
users will receive upgrades for $395.00 until January 15th, and for
$595.00 thereafter. CoSA will be demonstrating After Effects 2.0 at the
