Folio Delivers Cross-Platform Electronic Publishing

Folio VIEWS 3.0 for DOS is Now Shipping

PROVO, Utah, September 27, 1993 -- Folio Corporation is now shipping the
DOS version of its newly designed Folio VIEWS 3.0 electronic publishing
software, delivering on its promise of cross-platform paperless
publishing. The Windows version of Folio VIEWS 3.0 was released in May;
Macintosh support will be added in late 1993 or early 1994.

Folio VIEWS is ideal for sharing information across an enterprise network
that includes both DOS and Windows users. Companies do not need to create
a different Folio Infobase for each platform. Users can stay with their
platform of choice (DOS or Windows) to create, access, manage and share
the same Folio Infobases across either platform.

The product includes a royalty free viewer for distributing non-commercial
Folio Infobases to people who do not have Folio VIEWS. Both the DOS and
Windows versions are priced at US$495. A limited version, called Folio
VIEWS Lite, allows corporate users to search, print, and annotate but not
author and is priced at US$195. These products are available through Folio
resellers.

Paperless Publishing Reduces Costs

Companies who use Folio VIEWS save substantial sums of money by replacing
paper manuals and documents with electronically produced and delivered
information. For example, Aetna Life and Casualty Company of Hartford,
Conn. saved $6 million in 1992 with Folio VIEWS by converting printed
manuals to on-line format and sending out the updates across their
network.

Delivers Mission Critical Information Quickly

Folio VIEWS 3.0 is designed for businesses that use large amounts of
information that must be archived or updated and shared frequently. By
converting the information from paper to a Folio Infobase, companies can
deliver the latest information quickly and effortlessly across a network
to the decision makers who rely on it.

Does More Than Transport Information

Folio VIEWS 3.0 goes several steps beyond other products that merely
imitate paper on screen or that specialize in transporting information
from one computer to many. Folio VIEWS 3.0 lets people . . .

* conduct extremely fast, sophisticated searches within huge unstructured
Folio Infobase files (up to 16 terabytes),

* navigate the internal structure of large Folio Infobases using tables of
contents and fields,

* personalize the information with hypertext links, bookmarks,
highlighters, popup notes, etc.

* update and edit the information on the fly with groups of people
simultaneously entering changes,

* include embedded objects, graphics, multi-media, and text in an
infobase.
