***IKON ANNOUNCES DR11-W EMULATOR FOR ISA/EISA COMPUTERS***

October 22, 1993 -- Ikon Corporation of Seattle, WA, announces an addition
to its family of DR11-W Emulators. The new Model 10112 is an ISA/EISA
board which emulates the function of the popular DEC DR11-W and is
compatible with the EISA-based PCs and workstations from many
manufacturers such as Hewlett-Packard, Silicon Graphics, IBM and others.

The 10112 is software compatible with the Ikon Model 10094 ISA board but
offers significantly higher performance. Even in an ISA machine, the 10112
can provide a 1.6M byte/second data transfer rate (using a 16-bit DMA
channel in DEMAND Mode) compared to the 825K byte/second rate of the
10094. In an EISA machine (using a 16-bit EISA DMA channel in DEMAND Mode
B), the transfer rate goes up to 4M bytes/second.

FIFO buffers of 8K bytes for both input and output are standard; higher
capacities are optional. Data transfers on the bus are in 16-word bursts
for increased bus efficiency over the 10094. Multiple DMA blocks are
allowed within DR11 blocks thus allowing the block length to the attached
device to be larger than the DMA block from the system.

All DR11 control inputs are received with high-hysteresis unified-bus type
receivers for maximum noise rejection. Output signals are driven with
high-drive open-collector, or totem pole drivers. Various cabling options
are available for providing connection of DR11-type cables to the 80-pin
high density SCSI-2 connector on the 10112.

The 10112 is shipped with a Hardware/Software Manual and is covered by a
full one-year warranty and Ikon's unlimited emergency field loan program.
Small quantity North American pricing for the board is $995 US, FOB,
Seattle, WA. Boards are available from shelf stock and evaluation units
can be provided on loan.
